The steam on this iron is simply amazing!!
I’ve had this iron now a few weeks, I’ve been very impressed with it. We quilters are always looking for great irons, this so far has been a winner for the price. You can use as little or as much steam as you need. I use it on the first steam notch setting for pressing my quilt blocks. But be aware any steam setting higher than the first notch could distort your block. It’s that good!Using it for clothing is a dream. (Yes I do iron kaki pants for my husband.) the steam it has to offer is better than irons I’ve paid well over a $150 for. For the money if this iron only last a year it will be well worth it. I do hope it does last longer but if not, I would buy it again. It’s that good!Came as stated, well packaged, on time and a great iron…

Very pleased
I’ve had many irons around this price range, this one is by far my favorite, it never leaks stained water while using the steam feature, others have always leaked after a while, had this over a year still works like new, heats up very fast

Pretty good steam and settings choices
I’m picky about irons and was replacing my beloved shark iron that was great but no longer available. This one is good. The power level selection button is in WRONG PLACE because while your ironing you accidentally press it and have then click through all the cycles to get it back on setting you originally picked. Other that that it’s good. The steam is pretty good – not as good as my old shark but better than most irons! It’s not the junk ones in hotels, way better than that and i like it generally.

Best Performing Steam Iron!
I used to hate ironing until I obtained this Black and Decker Allure Steam Iron. It is so smooth and navigates the fabric with great ease! The steam feature works better than any other iron I have owned in the past. So happy with this purchase.

Worth about $25
This is a terrible iron and I will discuss why.First off, I received a used iron without any wrapping or packaging to keep it secure. Just cardboard, the iron, and the manual. I paid full price for this iron, so why did I receive a used one? This would be better priced around $25.Cons:1. Quality (materials, VOCs)The entire iron is made of plastic, only the plate is metal. The metallic paint was chipping off in my first use.I smelled burning plastic and mildew while ironing and steaming.2. Performance (overpriced, lacking)This iron could not take out deep wrinkles from 1000TC 100% organic cotton sheets, but is advertised as a “professional steam iron”. No matter what surface I ironed on, or how I tried to manipulate the fabric, the deep wrinkles would not come out.The plate is poorly and inconsistently heated; the nose was not taking out simple wrinkles near seams and material was not hot after ironing details with nose.3. Design (not intuitive)The writing for settings is in the same shade of gray as the twistable knob, just metallic. This temperature knob is located under the handle with no easy way to see what setting is on, except with a flashlight at a specific angle. There is no temperature change, just numbers 1-5. No material selections listed, but the numbers 1-5 correlate to materials listed in the user manual (why not just list the materials on the iron?) 4 is for cotton, but couldn’t even get wrinkles out of my 100% cotton sheets so I’m not sure what the temperature actually is.4. SafetyTo add water to the reservoir, you have to use a narrow funnel or tip it upside down, which is unsafe while in use.I left this iron turned on and monitored it for 45 minutes. I did not touch it or change settings. It did not turn off or change temperature, just stayed hot.Pros:Weight is manageablePlate glides smoothlySpray button sounds satisfying and mists evenly.TLDR;Worth $25Received used iron :/Cons:Smells like plastic when ironing because the entire body is plastic. Metallic paints chip off within first use, won’t age well.Temperature is inconsistent and settings are listed in user manual that correlate to numbers on the iron. These settings are in the same color as the background and in difficult to read areas.Did not take out deep wrinkles with recommended settings, no way to gauge temperature.Refilling water for steam function requires you to put the icon upside-down.Does not turn off by itself.Pros:Weight is manageable.Plate glides smoothly.Spray button sounds satisfying and mists evenly.

Great iron, only downside is it’s from the USA so had to buy a US to UK plug. Other than that quality iron, ready to use very quickly after turning it on.

Great iron, it has a nice long cord. The settings are easy to figure out, it holds well in the hand.Heating up takes no time at all.Very easy to add liquid to.I use it a few times a week, very simple to work with and it does a great job the point makes it easy to get into tight areas.

Temperature control on this item in on the handle and every single time I use the iron, my hand inadvertently touches it….it then switches temperature to being too hot or turns off. I have tried putting and elastic band on the handle so my hand doesn’t touch it, but it doesn’t help. Moves from #6 Cotton to #7 Linen without noticing and then to OFF. You don’t realize until it starts dripping large drips of water on the garment.I persevered and was determined to give it the benefit of the doubt until the drips and extreme heat were ruining my garments. To make matters work, Amazon will not return it because they deal with a THIRD PARTY SELLER and the return date says July and it is now the end of August. It is Black and Decker….I would “understand” if they said to deal with Black and Decker but they want my to go back to the SELLER, who’s name is Hyacinth. How would I know how to reach them? The box tells me there is a 2 year warranty, NOT 1 MONTH !!! Very unhappy. The reason I deal with Amazon is because of easy returns….I KNOW that Amazon does not manufacture this iron but as far as I’m concerned they are the SELLER….I bought it on their Sight; I paid them the money; and they delivered it.I was simply going to order another iron from Amazon, without the temperature control right on the handle which I hold on to, but I guess I will have to buy another Black & Decker from Canadian Tire or elsewhere. This THIRD PARTY SELLER ARRANGEMENT is not user friendly and I’m VERY, VERY, DISSATISFIED with both Amazon and the return policy.
