CRAFTSMAN Screwdriver Set, Slotted & Phillips, 14Piece (CMHT65045)

When nosalgia meets usefulness. These are a still a great set of everyday screwdrivers!
One of the first tools that I can remember holding in my young hands as a kid of the 80’s was a Craftsman screwdriver. When I was around 8 years old, my uncle built me a workbench with a peg board and small vise to ensure I took an interest in working on things (and he was successful). It was outfitted with a full set of these screwdrivers that I had throughout my teens. They’re probably still in a toolbox at my parent’s house, at least the ones I didn’t lose. :)In the many years since then, I now own more tools and equipment than any sane person should have. Any excuse to buy a tool is my motto these days. I honestly moved away from Craftsman tools quite a while ago, but I remember the days of walking through Sears as a kid dreaming about having the tools they had on the shelves. For full disclosure, I still have several sets of Craftsman socket sets and wrenches and they get used around my home shop more than anything. But I didn’t have a set of these screwdrivers.I have been using a lot of different screwdrivers since the 80’s and many have their pros and cons. Honestly, most seem to be made by people who seemingly never use them, because they’re so awkward and uncomfortable in your hands. When I saw these on a prime day deal, I decided to buy a set for the sake of nostalgia. What I was reminded of when receiving them is what a great set of screwdrivers they are for everyday use. They are not made to be beat on with a hammer, but for general day to day work, they’re comfortable, and still seem to have the quality I remember back in the day. I love the long reach screwdrivers and goodness, I remember using the wrong tool for the job many times to poke a hole through a wall in the house back in the day to run a cable before I had a hammer drill. I think in all the years of using these screwdrivers, I think I broke only one.Having a new set to use is not only handy, but as I approach 50, it brings back a lot of great memories of being a young dumb kid who never said no to trying to fix something. Now I’m just an old dumb kid doing the same thing, and I’m happy to report that these still look like they will provide many great years of service.

They’re craftsman use them as screwdrivers or chisels or tear them up anyway you want. You can take them back just like before and get a new replacement at any Ace hardware store
