Gives great insight into where your power is going
I recently purchased an Emporia Pro charger specifically because it comes with the Vue 3 monitor. My house is older, has been remodeled, and I don’t have high confidence in the panel capacity where the charger is going. However, I have two panels in my house and I decided both should be monitored. This led me to order a second Vue monitor and I went ahead and got the bundle with eight circuit sensors. An electrician handled installing the monitor in my garage panel, but I did the main panel myself. It was a piece of cake. It just required taking my time and being careful working around the main feeds, even when the breaker is off. It took a little extra work, but I was able to get the monitor to talk via both Ethernet and Wifi. Preference goes to Ethernet, but it will fall back to Wifi when that is not available. Best of all, I didn’t have to tap into an existing circuit for the monitor’s power feed as I had an unused dual pole breaker in my panel that I was able to connect to.Once the monitors, and the charger, were added to the app I had full view of where my power is going. Turns out I was not in danger of exceeding capacity, at least this time of year, but I have a lot more peace of mind.

Awesome and easy to set up, really neat to see what everything uses.
Incredible product! I don’t write many reviews. I bought this months ago. It works awesome! I had a question and called tech support. Actually spoke with a very nice tech right away. Was surprisingly tech savvy, no stupid ia assistant or long pause pushing zero for representatives. I have Solar and two electrical panels. No room in my outside panel for incoming and outgoing monitoring. So I used 4 sensors on the stuff in the outside panel. 2 heat pumps, pool equipment, and incoming power from my solar array. Worked well. Easily able to set either 220 or 120, incoming solar, and easily able to label each sensor to what is powered. I need more than the 16 sensors! I would like one for each breaker.I have found out how much power my pool cleaner pump takes. It’s ridiculous. I will find a more efficient one soon.1st pic is the panel, yes going to shorten the wires. No connectivity issues, but I still haven’t replaced the panel…2nd is instant use…3rd is daily…4th is monthly….5th yearly, but not a full yearThe pool equipment is crazy high…. Double checked it. I see how stupid inefficient my cleaner pump is. The normal pump is a variable pump and super efficient. So I can see instantly when pool cleaner comes on a how much it takes. If I didn’t have it, I would reduce my usage dramatically!

Useful tool to be aware of the energy usage and cost for your home or residence
this review is very similar to the review I did for the additional 8 CT Circuits. This was abit overwhelming at first when considering the emporia vue3. I watched tons of youtube videos and review and how to install videos. My approach was… after knuckling down and deciding I was going to do it. I should say if you are not comfortable then get an electrician. I decided I was going to be super careful and do it. I bought just the base unit – not any of the additional sensors.. just to reduce my investment see how it went. I installed the unit (being super careful). following the instructions – I would save Having the “main” lines monitored was very informational – it basically confirmed my suspected thoughts about usage. I wound up only getting the 8 additional because I just needed them on the important more usage items. I found it to be of value and I wish my energy provider would have a smart meter since it would have done the main monitoring for me.I don’t have a solar panel or EV charger, I just wanted to save as much money as possible on energy usage. My photos show the electrical panel and how much room there was to install the device

Functional hardware but clunky software
I got this to put on the subpanel in my garage, which is on its own disconnect separate from the rest of my house. On the whole it is OK and I am not sure if there is a better option but it is far from a 5-star product.First the good: This was relatively easy to install and get connected to wifi, seems to work well (ish, see below), and doesn’t (yet!) require you to buy some $#@! subscription to use it. For that I am bumping this from 3 to 4 stars.Gripe 1: You should not need to install the app to get to the installation manual. My electrician fussed with it for 5 minutes before I figured out how to access the PDF and sent it to him. Since many (most?) users will have an electrician do the behind-the-panel work, the PDF should be directly accessible.Gripe 2: My energy balance isn’t quite right. I installed this in my garage where the vast majority of the power consumption is from the heat pump, and the app is generally showing the heat pump using 110-120% of the power used by the whole garage. Comparing this to my electrical meter it seems to be matching up within the margin of error, at least. There may be some further adjustment or calibration to get this to work better, but something is clearly off and it’s not obvious what.Gripe 3: My biggest complaint though is the app, which has some missing functionality and weird UX behavior. It seems reasonably stable and performant, so it’s not awful. But for a device you buy explicitly for monitoring and performance, the reporting functionality is very rudimentary. You can’t select a date/time range to view, it only works in vertical orientation, and scrolling through the data is very clunky. This also seems to support a number of “smart home” type features like time-of-use controls, which do not apply to my use case. It does seem like one of the more feature-rich versions of this kind of thing, so that may weigh in its favor if you are looking for that.

Absolutely love this device. Picked it up on Black Friday and was simple to install (if you’re comfortable with being inside the electrical panel). Provides lots of data to figure out where your power is going, and what to focus on for savings. Found our deep freeze was using more power than the fridge, so able to consolidate and just run the fridge.

Easy to install and set up. I can now monitor my parents electricity circuits to see if they are leaving things on. Helped my identify an issue with the boiler timer and allowed me to check their bills against the supplier to reveal discrepancies in the meter!Only improvement would be smaller clamps.

This is a good product. I have 2 in different locations they are very informative of your energy use. The ability to get a download of a CSV that can be analysed is brilliant for people who wish to truly understand the energy usage. The real time monitoring via the app is very useful and informative. Overall this is a high quality device and I am using one for nearly 4 years now.

Replacing a Vue Gen 2 whilst rewiring.Be careful! The new clamps are substantially larger than the old ones making the very hard to fit inside a UK (and probably many other non US) breaker boxes.Other than that it works well.
