Do Not Buy – Failed in a few weeks 😒
Kept locking up and needing reset to work, then the resetting quit working and no longer connected to hub. Also could not z-wave exclude as it’s ID had changed.Total Junk Do Not RecommendReturn for Full Refund, fortunately it was only a few weeks old and could be easily returned to Amazon. This brand is OFF my list for hub connected devices, just garbage!

Great motion sensor. High quality.

Nope… doesn’t work
Unboxed and within the hour starting the return process. It either works or it doesn’t. initially my Zwave couldnt find, but after several attempts of resetting it, it did. No QR code or manual setup (Not a requirement, but common for zwave as an alternate to discovery). The setup process is only 3 fast taps on the back of the device. There is an “extremely” tiny reset hole that I couldn’t even make contact with after spending 25 minutes trying to find something small enough to even go in it. What’s the purpose of a sensor if the sensor does not expose if it detects motion. See unacceptable screenshot of what the sensor reports. I named the sensor Living Room Motion sensor, but I can’t track motion. Battery… The battery was 15% drained out of the box. Either the batteries draining in storage or they aren’t shipping new batteries. There are more issues I discovered, but I’ll stop here. I wanted this product to work and I’m disappointed because it has potential in my home applications.

not PIR
Doesn’t work with medium dogs. possibly not small dogs either. It had a small portion of my dog within it’s detection zone and it triggered.

Motion detection distance is less than 5m, not advertised 12m
At least it is cheap….

Works well, not very tough
It’s a functional Z-Wave detector with integration by Tuya/Smart Life. It’s small and light. The mounting panel on the back is help with a good 3M adhesive pad or two screws – included. The sensor reads at 90 degrees. They recommend mounting it at about 6 feet to be able to detect out to about 30 feet. This is a common distance for motion detectors. We use Hubitat which doesn’t support the Heiman motion detector directly but it bound as a generic Z-Wave easily. Press the little button the back three times quickly to put it in pairing mode. Z-Wave has great range, 200 feet or so in the open. They also communicate with other Z_Wave devices to create a much larger network. The working temperature is listed as -10℃~+50℃. You may find that the battery won’t do very well at -10C (14F). The only things I had misgivings about are the front cover and the battery. The front cover is thin plastic and may not take a fall. The battery could be a standard size. I use rechargeable LiPo batteries that can take the cold and last longer than a typical alkaline. Otherwise it’s all good and for a reasonable price.

Decent z-wave motion detector
This z-wave motion detector is pretty good, but it is a little expensive for what you get. A lot of motion detection sensors also include some other information too, like temperature, humidity, etc. That would be nice because then I could use multiple data points to create some automations. As it is, this is still handy because I want to know when someone goes into my workshop but I do wish it had a few more data points. It’s made of plastic and is definitely not weather sealed so you don’t want to use it outside. The battery has so far lasted a while but not sure how long it will last. I wish z-wave devices were less expensive, it just doesn’t seem like something so simple should be $30-40 but it is what it is.
