Good modem at a great price
Fast cable modem. Was a good value being refurbished. Had no issues setting up, as I was able to activate on xfinity via the mobile app on my own. Has been reliable! no connection drops/ issues.

Great modem for the price, no brainer
Have 1gbs on Xfinity. Bought this to replace my SB8200, which was only rated at 800mb Down on Xfinity. Never got higher than 700mbs. The Coda56 came well packaged and appears to be new. Even had a high-quality coax cable included.Hooked up the modem to power and cable and my router, 0pened Xfinity app on my phone, scanned the barcode on the modem, and 5 minutes later I was online. Speed is significantly better and consistent. 1100 down and about 40 up. Thing smokes the SB8200, and should I decide later to up my service we are ready to go.As far as reliability it’s too soon to tell but if it needs a reboot once in a while I’m ok with that anyway. No brainer for the priceOne thing to note, if you’re looking for faster upload speed, you’re not going to get it unless Xfinity has the newer service tier in your area. 40mbs up is the cap no matter what your download speed is

    Plug & Play With Xfinity
The Hitron CODA56 modem was stupid easy for this mildly techie mom to set-up. Plug and play. It works fine with Xfinity. Thank God I didn’t have to call Comcast for help because I’d still be waiting. Anyhoo.I bought the refurbished version but it looked sparkling brand new and was carefully packaged. I haven’t had to touch it since setting it up months ago. I like the white – it matches my router.Overall very happy with the Hitron modem. It required 5 minutes of effort and I haven’t had any issues.

    Good modem
Works great when other brands wouldn’t. Bit big and bulky and not very durable casing. Nice speed stats.

This Modem is Solid on Xfinity
I’ve only had this modem for a few days at the time of this review. I bought the Renewed model (around $100 USD) and then the 4-year extended warranty so that it totaled about what a brand new one would have cost without the extended warranty. I have Xfinity for cable modem service, and the guy at the Xfinity store recently told me that if I am not changing out my cable modem every two years I am looking for reliability or failure issues. Not sure I buy that line of thinking, but my old modem (Netgear CM1100) was several years old and due to only having DOCSIS 3.0, Xfinity was capping that 1.0 GBPS router at 800 MBPS! I decided to purchase the CODA56 due to reviews and it is officially supported by Xfinity on their modems list. I have the 2 GBPS internet plan with Xfinity, so I needed this new modem to be able to get these new speed improvements that they made in my area.Setting up the modem took 20-30 minutes. I used the Xfinity app to activate it. The first time I tried, I assume that Xfinity was pushing their updates to it and something didn’t quite stick. I restarted the modem and the app and tried again, and that time everything worked successfully and my new modem was up and running. It has been completely solid so far. Since I didn’t upgrade my existing router yet, I am only seeing 1 GBPS across my wired devices on my LAN. While I cannot fully recognize the 2 GBPS speed with my existing hardware, I can tell you that I have two teen sons who are fueled by WiFi and I haven’t heard any of the former “OH MY GOD! WHY AM I LAGGING????” while they are playing their online games and streaming YouTube simultaneously. The router is giving them a fair chunk of the bandwidth since it has plenty on reserve. My wife and I connect to work VPNs to work from home and they have also been solid and responsive.I hesitated with the brand name and not hearing of it before, but if Xfinity officially supports it, it must be good enough. Since I bought the extended warranty with it, I think it was a good decision to purchase it and time will tell. I read other reviews of people stating that their modems were still attached to other Xfinity users’ accounts, but I did not have that issue and I didn’t need to contact Xfinity for any tech support while setting this modem up in my environment.

    Slow
No good in my area with xfinity. Got around 17mbs with a 1gig feed. Go with the xfinity modem I now get the 1gig speed.

    Works great
Works great with Xfinity. No problems setting it up and connecting a router to it. The firmware is automatically updated by Xfinity so I did not need to worry about that.

By eliminating the old modem rental fee, this thing will pay for itself in just a few months.
The good:We received a “renewed” product, but it was like new. All accessories, and even the manuals were included in the original box. We registered it online no problem. We linked it to our WAVE aka Astound cable account with just a quick phone call. Better speeds than the old rental modem/router WAVE originally provided. More consistent uptime, it runs cooler, and looks better. The OK:There is only one 2.5g port on the back, and there doesn’t seem to be a user friendly way to connect to the modem and check it status via the IP address like we could would the old modem. The GREAT:By eliminating the old modem rental fee, this thing will pay for itself in just a few months.
