Popular HomeSeer Products

⚠️ READ FIRST: This USB stick is not a stand-alone hub. It must be used with smart home software running on a computer or on a Z-Wave compatible smart home hub such as HomeSeer HomeTroller or Home Assistant Green.
💡 WORKS WITH ALL Z-WAVE DEVICES: SmartStick G8 can control both standard Z-Wave devices (mesh network) and Long Range (LR) devices at the same time. You can mix and manage both types of devices in your home as long as you’re using compatible software like HomeSeer or Home Assistant.
📏 INCREDIBLE LONG RANGE CAPABILITY: SmartStick G8 supports the latest 800 Series Z-Wave Long Range technology, offering wireless coverage of up to 1 mile. To use this feature, you’ll need LR-compatible software and hubs, like Z-Wave JS UI v9.10.0 (or later) paired with HomeSeer or Home Assistant. Note: Your devices also need to support Z-Wave LR and be added as LR devices.
👆 EASY UPGRADE FROM OLDER CONTROLLERS: If you’re upgrading from a previous Z-Wave controller (500, 700, or 800 series), SmartStick G8 makes it easy to migrate your Z-Wave network. Just use Z-Wave JS UI v9.9.0 (or later) for the migration. This feature works with HomeSeer and Home Assistant. Important: Don’t use other methods (like PC Controller) for migration—they could make the stick unusable.
🌎 GLOBAL COMPATIBILITY: Works with all Z-Wave frequencies used in most coutries around the world (frequency is set using HomeSeer or Home Assistant software or hub).
🔮 FUTURE-PROOF WITH FIRMWARE UPDATES: SmartStick G8 comes with the latest Z-Wave firmware (version ZDK 7.22.2 as of 10/25/24) installed. You can update it as new versions are released, so it stays up-to-date with the latest technology.

works great for homeseer on windows machine
Great improvement over the previous iterations i’ve used. Network stays up and nodes stay connected as they should. I’m running this on homeseer installed on a windows 11 server. it’s been up and running for weeks now with absolutely zero issues to note.

Works way better with home assistant vs. Aeotec
Had a Aeotec Z-stick previously, and could not for the life of me get a healthy network: first hop needed to be line-of-sight, smartstart inclusion never worked, some devices would randomly drop out. After months of thinking it was something I did, I tried swapping controllers to this one, and all those problems went away!!Has no issues with NVM backup (but have not tried restore). Might require a USB extension to keep interference from the computer low (common for these sticks). Very happy overall

Immediately just worked with Home Assistant and some Zwave devices.
I am testing Home Assistant and exploring what it can do. I easily added Zwave devices using this as the hub.

Does not update firmware
I purchased this to work with Home Assistant, it recognized the device right away. However, when I tried to add a Bali remote for my blinds it did not recognize it. I tried to update the firmware but I am getting error 0x44. I have not tolerance for purchasing something that does not work with the manufactures software. I looked on the forums and there was no solution. I do not recommend this device.

OOtB Linux Support, Works in Noisy Environments 10/10
Work’s out of the box on Linux, has little to no issues networking in a rather noisy environment, I’ve not noticed any reliability issues, and works fine with most smart home solutions.

I added the stick to a Home Assistant Green (via HomeSeer integration). Default Z-Wave frequency of this stick is 908 MHz (= region USA). In Europe, Z-Wave is 868 MHz based. In the specification of the stick is written:”Supports all regions (changeable in software), default setting is 908 MHz”.This can see seen in log, too:”2024-09-15T14:51:17.259Z CNTRLR Querying configured RF region…2024-09-15T14:51:17.287Z CNTRLR The controller is using RF region USA (Long Range)”How can I change this RF region to add my european Z-Wave devices?—-Update: With support of community of Home Assistant I could solve the problem where to change the region to Europe: I installed the Add-On “Z-Wave JS UI” (in addition to “Z-Wave JS” integration) in HA and there is a configuration field for RF region.
