  1. Splitends

    Home Assistant + Z-Wave + Ethernet
I adopted this into Home Assistant to use Amazon products off outside of the Amazon ecosystem. I started with the Ring Keypad. Z-Wave device had no issues with intergaton after writing to it. Keypad seemlessly integrated and is now functional with Alarmo. This whole move was to get Z-Wave into my Ethernet instead of hanging another USB dongle off of my home lab.

  2. Amazon Customer

    Many hardware problems
This is my thrid Znet over 6 months that went south with a red light and would not connect to the server. Over 12 years any of the box’s black or blue are junk. If my replacement today doesn’t work I’ll buy a Z stick 800 G8. I’ll have to figure out how to centrally locate it.

  3. RP

The best Z-Wave solution out there
I purchased these directly from HomeSeer. The Z-Net is a unique product. It allows you to place your Z-Wave interface in any location within your house for maximum connectivity. It can be connected by Ethernet or set for WiFi. This device is a breeze to setup. It defaults to DHCP so it is basically plug and play. The configuration page allows setting a static address if you choose. This device will also allow a ZigBee coordinator to be installed in a USB port. Both controllers can be accessed over the LAN using different ports. I have a very busy network with over 150 Z-Wave devices. I have multiple Z-Nets covering the house and two detached structures. The house controller hosts a ZigBee coordinator. I replaced older 500 series Z-Nets with this new 800 series version. I moved to the Z-Wave JS plugin at the same time as I replaced the Z-Nets. Home Assistant uses Z-Wave JS as well, so the results are likely the same. The Z-Net comes with a micro USB power supply to power it. To be honest, the improvements were instantly noticeable. Commands were executed nearly instantly. One very busy function on our system checks every lock, door and window when we go to bed. It also shuts off all lights and puts several in night light mode. With this new controller this very busy function executes within seconds and is 100% reliable. The old Z-Nets were very good, but this new one clearly raises the bar. I run HomeSeer software and have over a hundred HomeSeer devices. I’ve been using them for over a decade. The company and their products are first rate.
