Excellent Camera excellent instructions and OUTSTANDING packaging
I’m so tired of Amazon product coming from china. It’s substandard, packed terrible and the attempt at instructions are useless. That is not the case on this cameras and this company. I did my research and they were a little more money but also lesss than others. I was blown away at how professional the packaging was. It was better than an Apple laptop. Amazing. The install is easy with the app but what’s even better is the simple instructions that any English speaker can comprehend. I mean amazing. The camera works flawlessly and it wasn’t well worth a few extra bucks. I would pay more every time for product and support like this

    Great deal
They work very well. I did get one that was defective. But their customer service took care of it.

Not as much range as expected
Easy to set up and install however the camara 5G breaks up and loses connectivity. Camaras only 25′ from Home Hub but around corner of house and garage.Works good on the 2.4G band but running at reduced resolution. Have only had for a week so still learning and playing with. Install instructions ok but operating details are a search in Realink support or other online sites.7/20 revision– Ive been working with Reolink customer service who have been great. 5G Connectivity has increased by changing channels.

    Love Reolink cameras!
I have these cameras, one is on a property in New England, and the other is on Florida. I didn’t try need to purchase another hub, but it’s worth it in my opinion.I have one that keeps an eye on a tricky area at my house in New England, and one that I keep in my chicken run in Florida.Excellent video quality, and they were easy to get connected. One is placed 20 feet from my home WiFi, and the other one is about 50 feet from my WiFi network, both have had stable connections. I made sure I bought two micro SD cards in addition, to make sure I could get the most storage capacity that was available. I love that I can use the app to check on both properties when I’m not there. They’re easy to use and I don’t think they are expensive for the peace of mind I get. I can activate the lights and sirens from wherever I am. Being able to adjust them is really nice too, however I do find the process to be a bit laggy. It’s not bad, just kind of fiddly. (Be patient.)They stay charged with the solar panels, so that’s also another great feature. They work very well for my needs, and I’d recommend them.

A lot of issues and no Customer support
At this time, I’m unhappy with the customer service. I have summited a number of tickets without a response. The hub is offline half the time and cameras or recordings cannot be accessedEdit:I have been working with customer support to resolve the issues as soon as I install the new parts I will update this review. They are trying to resolve the problems.

    Good camera when working
Works well when working. Rio link isn’t much help when cameras are not working.

The Riolink Argus PT Ultra cameras are worth the money.
The cameras were extremely easy to set up. It took me a couple of hours to set up both cameras, but that is because the mounting screws that come with the camera are meant for wood or sheetrock and I mounted my cameras into the metal tubing of my car port. If you’re going to mount the cameras to metal make sure you drill pilot holes and use sheet metal screws. Also, I thought that the base would connect automatically, but I had to go back and scan the QR Code on the cameras after I had the base connected to the Riolink app on my phone. No big deal just a little added note.Because my property is remote we and we have absolutely zero cell service, I have the cameras connected to my Starlink and use the solar panels to keep them charged. It’s August, so we get plenty of sunlight, but the batteries have stayed fully charged so far. I spent about 2 hours the other night playing with the cameras testing different setting and the batteries lost hardly any power at all.I’ve had the cameras up for about 3 weeks now and love them. I am able to monitor my property, and my cattle every time they step in front of the motion detector. I am amazed at the clarity of the cameras, and the night mode was really surprising.I recommend these cameras to anyone who wants to use them for security or just to monitor your property.

The cameras do everything they said and the instructions were easy to follow for their installation

Very good quality. Just sometimes it detects human as animal. The solar panel works perfect.

I found setup of both cameras to be very easy to setup thanks to Reolink’s genuinely good security camera software. They are good quality cameras. The build quality feels very sturdy and I think these two cameras will last a long time. Furthermore, I found that installation couldn’t have been easier. Just remember that the cameras need to be in range of the wireless router. The solar panels are great. If Reolink is reading this, I think it would be nice to power &/or charge the camera with both the solar panel and via a plugged in USB C cable as well. That way the outlet can be the backup power source to the cameras should the solar panels not get enough sun on a particular day to reasons of stormy weather or even snow covering the panel. The home hub is very useful to have as it encrypts and stores footage into data that is stored on two micro SD cards both which accommodate up to 256Gb. Right now I have one 256Gb card and a 64Gb card but I plan to soon make it so that both slots are 256Gb to store as much data as possible. The benefit of the hub is that the footage can not be stolen if someone were to try and take the memory card from the camera or even steal the camera with the card in it. The hub prevents those scenarios.Reolink’s software is very good. It is fast, easy to use and there are just so many settings to tinker with including setting up schedules. I find it really neat that this camera can identify people, animals or vehicles and all of which can be enabled or disabled at will or configured to operate on a schedule. The cameras are PT and not PTZ which means they lack any sort of optical zoom feature which is not great. The plus side is the picture is very good and it is easy to see a lot of detail whether it be day or night.Reolink makes very good security camera products. I think what is also neat about these cameras is that they are able to set up anywhere, even if the wifi is coming from a cellular hotspot device.

I’ve not yet mounted this outdoors yet due to winter weather but I did take the unit outside to do some tests. In particular, I was interested in how the solar powered camera would fair on the North/front facing side of the house by just sitting them on the recycling bin.My observation is that the 6W solar panel in conjunction with cold weather does not work well without direct sunlight. On the South facing side that looks at the backyard, it charges fine. However, the North side drains quicker than the panel is able to supply it power due to a constant shadow throughout the day. This problem is compounded by cloudy days. I think to use this camera on that side of the house, I’d it to be permanently plugged in to a USB charger.Battery usage also seems high at 4k resolution, max frame rate, and max bitrate. Draining quickly from 100% to 40% in a span of a few hours capturing mostly sidewalk and vehicle activity. It did much better on the backyard side that has nearly zero activity. Also, the frame rate maxes out at 15 FPS which seems low to me in 2025. The other two options, 10fps and 12fps, are even worse.Next, the camera lacks motion tracking (e.g. camera tracks a person). Seems wasteful to have PTZ without this function. The PTZ function is controlled manually or through presets programmed via the app. Motion detection via the heat signature detection (passive infrared sensor) also seem spotty especially with subjects walking on the sidewalk. I think the fixed view + range of detection is a problem. Also note that while the Home Hub supports file encryption, the Argus PT Ultra itself doesn’t! So if the camera were to be stolen by thieves, they’d have access to all your footage. Also note that the cameras are not intended for 24/7 recording even if you can set it in that way via scheduling. While all this is seemingly negative, there’s also a lot of things I liked. For one, reviewing footage from the Reolink app is FAR snappier than the Nest app I’m currently using (seems to get slower and more sluggish every year). Local storage and fast wifi really helps.I love the 5GHz Wifi 6 support. 2.4GHz is heavily congested in my area, and my Nest Outdoor cams keep dropping more and more. Note that Home Hub can act as an access point and provide its own 5GHz wifi signal for the Argus cameras. If you have a good mesh wifi set up, you can also opt to connect the cameras to your own wifi system and disable the one in the Home Hub. During testing, the signal from the Home Hub was surprisingly strong even through brick walls. This is definitely useful for those that are running on ancient wifi equipment.I love the extra clarity and colors of both day time and night time pictures. Night vision works exceptionally well in black and white. Field of view is quite wide and combined with the wide PTZ motion, you can adjust it very easily to how you want. I like the included spotlight and siren function. It’s got clear two-way audio with a good mic and loud speaker.I like the ability to set numerous preset points to allow the user to quickly point the camera to different views instead of manual control using arrow keys. I also like how you can set a monitor point that allows the camera to auto return to its original set position even if you played around with the PTZ.The app also seem way more customizable and feature rich than the Nest app. There’s so many adjustment options possible such as detection sensitivity and picture brightness and shadow tweaking. I especially like the built in timelapse function even if its use is limited from a surveillance perspective. Seems very polished and easy to use generally. Note that rich notifications (e.g. mobile notification with a picture) requires a cloud subscription. Without it, all I see are generic “Person Detected” or “Vehicle Detected” messages. At the end of the day, this combo kit has many advantages over the Nest setup I have but is limited mainly by placement and a lack of certain features. It’s still a decent upgrade to what I currently have.
