This is the real deal! (2 wire setup version)
I never write reviews, so for me, this is saying something.I was an early adopter of the first round of Rings (the grey brick-looking ones). They were so-so. Upgraded to Google Nest (latest model) and had my complaints with it, which I won’t go into here. And now back to the latest Ring doorbell and WOW. The field of view is super wide, and the image is very clear, not to mention QUICK to load the video! It’s nice to have a quick preview on my watch as well! The sound quality is a night-and-day difference from my Nest, and the app is second to none. I’m a developer, and I spend my days in UI You’re not getting much better than this for an app.I’m not sure why there are already negative reviews for this. Sleek looking, extremely easy to set up, and functions great on my 5G. What’s not to like? A+!

⭐ “Sharper, Smarter, and Worth the Upgrade”⭐
Upgraded from the older HD model and the difference is clear. The new Ring Wired Doorbell Pro has sharper video, true color night vision, and smarter motion alerts that cut false notifications. Setup was easy, build quality feels premium, and performance is fast and reliable. Worth every penny.

    Very Nice Upgrade
I had the original Ring Pro wired doorbell before this upgrade, purchased in 2018. I do notice an improvement in low light performance. When in full infrared night mode I can see more than I could before. If I turn on my front lights the camera goes back into color mode which is nice. Resolution is better overall as well as when when zooming in on the app. Vertical angle is wider so now I can see my steps right up to the door which is nice for seeing delivered packages. The horizontal angle is slightly smaller but not enough to bother me. I can still see my entire driveway. I also purchased a Ring downward angled wedge to get a full view of our steps. This camera also lets you know if it sees a person, vehicle or package. Overall I am impressed with this camera. I think it’s worth the upgrade, especially if you have an older Ring Pro like I had.

Disables your door bell unlike previous versions
Completely bummed that this version of the ring door bell means Completely disconnecting existing doorbell. Other versions of the wired ring doorbell had a bridge that allowed your existing doorbell to function. This version has you Completely disconnecting the doorbell and replacing it with a chime bell. I have multiple doors in my house and this eliminates the doorbell at the other doors. What a waste of money. Tech support was pretty aloof and sent me a doc confirming that you lose your mechanical door bell and can only use the mini chime that only makes a single sound. If you want to use a mechanical door bell this camera is not for you.

Doorbell & video quality are great, Chime Mini is a joke, and doesn’t support mechanical chime
As a longtime user of the Video Doorbell Pro 1st Gen (and dozens of other Ring products), I expected this 3rd Gen model to be a major upgrade in every way. While that’s true for the video quality and design of the doorbell itself, I’m disappointed that this latest version no longer supports the existing mechanical doorbell chime in my home (despite what it said on the product information page) and instead includes a Chime Mini speaker that mounts outside the doorbell chime case, looks silly, and sounds worse than a cheap kids’ toy.Ring should warn customers up front that this version does not support a mechanical chime — and for the price, should include the Ring Chime plug-in speaker (which sounds much better and offers different chime tones with volume control).Ignore the instructions and DON’T install the Chime Mini. Instead, use a Ring Chime 3rd Gen OR if you have Echo devices, you can use them to announce doorbell tones/alerts instead.

Great but definitely needs a good WiFi connection
Very vivid compared to older generation wired ring pro doorbell and night is in color too! Was having issues with video freezing/pixelated forcing me to move my eero pro mesh router closer to the doorbell when I didn’t have to for my older doorbell. Reason is it’s in 4k and there’s no obvious way to downgrade to 1080p. If I couldn’t improve the connection I would have been stuck with returning it.

    Would recommend
Replaced our NEST doorbells and are pleased. Very good field of vision and night vision. Easy installation and set up. No issues with wi-fi. Note this model no longer works with a indoor chime, a separte electronic(one note) chime(Chime Kit mini) is included and attaches to your existing indoor chime, however you do not have to use it. Chime Kit mini attaches to your indoor chime same as the transformers of the previous RING models.Ended up attaching the Chime kit mini to the outside of the chime box and then placed a decorative cover over all.AI is fairly accurate and prompts are timely. Detection distant is about 30 feet with Birds Eye view on and about 35 to 40 with the feature turned off. There are three plans with the highest at 19.99 a month which includes AI. Would recommend this product. App is easy to understand and use, but note the app will not work with a VPN.

    This Is A Major Upgrade
I originally had the 1st Gen Wired Ring Doorbell Plus and it worked great and still did not have an issue (Was mounted for 5 years). When I saw this new model, and read about its specs, I decided to purchase it. Keep in mind my older model was still function great. Once i had it installed and configured, the quality of the lens was amazing. It out surpassed the 1st Gen version. It was simple to install, wire and mount the unit and I did not have to make any modifications. My entire home is covered by Ring cameras, base station and motion sensors and this added to the security of my home. This device was a bit pricey, and if its durability is like the 1st Gen, then it was worth it.
