No, OpenDots ONE uses air conduction combined with DirectPitch technology and an open-ear design, not bone conduction, ensuring environmental awareness and private listening.
How does OpenDots ONE minimize sound leakage?
OpenDots ONE uses DirectPitch technology to minimize leakage. Enabling “Privacy Mode” in the Shokz App further reduces high-frequency sound leakage for a more private experience.

OpenDots ONE is smaller, lighter, and more portable — ideal for daily use and travel. OpenFit 2 offers slightly improved high-frequency performance and is better suited for exercise.
How do I enable Dolby Audio on OpenDots ONE?
OpenDots ONE supports Dolby Audio for an immersive sound experience. You can turn it on or off in the Shokz App under device settings.
Can I use OpenDots ONE with just one earbud?

Best Earbuds!
I’ve been a loyal fan of Shokz for years, and I own several of their products—including their amazing swimmable headsets, which have been a lifesaver during my pool workouts. But I have to say, the SHOKZ OpenOne Dots blow me away. Hands down, these are the best earbuds I’ve ever used!First of all, the sound quality is phenomenal. The clarity is something I didn’t even know I was missing until I started using these. The balanced audio is superb, whether I’m listening to my favorite playlist, catching up on podcasts, or on a call. The bass is deep without overpowering, and the mids and highs come through crystal clear. It feels like I’m in my little concert hall!Comfort? These are on another level. The earbuds are incredibly lightweight and snug, and I can easily wear them for hours without that “ear fatigue” you get with other brands. They also stay put, even during workouts or when I’m out for a run. What sets the SHOKZ OpenOne Dots apart are the thoughtful details. The battery life is excellent—I don’t constantly worry about charging them. Plus, they pair instantly and seamlessly with my devices, making the user experience much smoother. Another standout is the open-ear design that lets me stay aware of my surroundings. It’s especially great for outdoor use when I want to hear approaching vehicles or people, but still enjoy my music.Shokz manages to raise the bar continuously, and the OpenOne Dots are no exception. They’ve perfected the balance between innovation, usability, and quality. I’ve tried a LOT of earbuds over the years, and nothing else even comes close to these. I genuinely cannot recommend them enough! If you’ve been sitting on the fence, go for it. You won’t regret it!Shokz, thank you for creating such an outstanding product. You’ve got another fan for life!

Amazing quality
I love these. Very comfortable, I do not feel them. I have very small ears and they fit perfectly, the do slide, nor fall off. Excellent sound, and I can still hear things around me. Very satisfied with my purchase.

You’r Everyday Carry Earbuds
From a design standpoint, the Shokz OpenDots One measure up quite well. They fit my ears as well and, which are quite comfortable. They have a flexible connector that Shokz refers to as a JointArc and says “provides a gentle yet secure grip on various ear shapes” while noting that “soft silicone strategically placed on the exterior of the speaker further minimizes pressure, even during extended wear.” As with all clip-on buds, the OpenDots One, as their name implies, feature an open design. That means the bud and driver sit over your ear canal.Open buds allow for sound to leak into your ears or want to hear the outside world around them for safety reasons. The OpenDots One offer a secure fit and work well for runners. They have an IP54 rating, which means they’ll provide protection from “light rain and sweat” and are also dust-resistant.The touch controls take some to get used to. You can either tap the battery compartment or JointArc or “pinch” the battery with two fingers to control playback and answer/end calls. You can set the long tap and hold gesture to either adjust volume, activate your voice assistant or advance tracks forward and back.Shokz says the OpenDots One feature its Bassphere technology that “combines dual 11.8 mm drivers in a spherical module to replicate the performance of a 16mm driver.” They also feature Dolby Audio and Shokz’ DirectPitch technology, which minimizes sound leakage so people near you can’t hear what you’re listening to (or hear it very faintly anyway). You have to engage Dolby Audio in the Shokz App for iOS and Android and it does open the sound a bit and everything sound a tad fuller. It’s simply some form of digital processing and it’s unclear whether it impacts battery life but you can hear a difference when engaging it. The sound of all clip-on buds changes slightly with how you position the buds on your ears (you can slide the bud up or down a bit to find the most comfortable fit but the positioning may impact sound quality). The OpenDots One have “Dynamic Ear Detection” that allows the earbuds to automatically recognize which bud is in which ear, so no left or right markers are needed. They link with the Shokz App for iOS and Android, which “enables multipoint pairing between two devices, 4 pre-set EQ modes plus two personalized EQ, Find My Earbuds and more.”Bluetooth: 5.4 and Dolby AudioThe OpenDots One are rated for up to 10 hours of use on on a single charge, with an additional 30 hours of battery in the charging case, which does feature wireless charging. These are my everyday earbuds along with my Edifier Lolliclips which I carry for backup. Both are Extremly great.I have the black and now I will be ordering the Grey ones.

So comfortable!
I already own Apple AirPods, which have great sound. But after some time, my ears become sore from the pressure. The open ear, clip on earbuds are much more comfortable as they sit just outside the ear.The sound is very good and they stay in place. They allow a little more background noise which I have only noticed while flying. They are easy to place once you find the placement position, easy to use for volume control and a good buy for the value as well. I listen to ebooks often and am able to wear the Shokz OpenDots all day.

Too expensive
The OpenDots are actually very nice! Compared to the Bose version, they come in at a cheaper price and almost the same sound quality. The comfort is all day long on my left ear, but on the right ear it tends start getting some fatigue. Battery life is good and the case gives you more juice if needed. The super cheap paper bag that Shocks provides to store your case in is garbage and you might as well throw it away because it will tear easily after one use. No charging block, but, they did provide a super short charging USBC cord. For the price paid as of this review, $213.95 is steep, but it’s cheaper than the Bose competitor. However, for $30 more the Bose version can be purchased and have better sound quality. That’s honestly the only 3 cons for these Buds, the cheap storage case paper bag, price and sound compared to Bose. However, the sound is still amazing if you don’t compare to Bose.

Awesome air buds. Much preferred to my AirPods Pro that don’t last nearly as long and don’t charge as well.
Dindin PB –
Love these open ear headphones! Perfect to use during workout.
Paolo Ferrari –
Suono cristallino e bassi profondi.
David Mason –
these are probably the best wireless buds i have ever used they made my inner ear hurt a little for the first day or two then it was great once i settled in to using them and the controls are quite intuitive once you play with them a litle
