Extremely Impressive- I didn’t think they’d be as good as they are!
I got these as a lower-cost replacement for the 1st generation AirPods Pro that I had used for a few years (before one of the pods finally met its unfortunate demise), and I’d say they’re just about as good all-around as those were. The fact that these are a quarter of the price of the AirPods Pro is certainly astounding, and I’m legitimately very impressed. I have always thought highly of Anker/Soundcore’s products, but I bought these for $36 (on sale) and certainly did not expect them to be THIS good LOLSound quality: While the sound quality is not quite as good as the AirPods Pro, I found the smart EQ feature on the Soundcore app to be EXTREMELY helpful in getting the p40i earbuds to sound much better. The noise-cancellation of these p40i is also comparable to that of the AirPods Pro 1st gen in my opinion, given that you fit them properly into your ears (and I’m often in a noisy environment). I am happy with the way these sound; I own an expensive pair of over-the-ear headphones and I am generally picky about sound. When I do wear earBUDS though, I am not super super picky, and I just want something that can (1) be easily connected to my device (2) have long battery life (3) be durable, water-resistant. Basically, for earbuds, I’m looking for a workhorse, and these do the job while sounding excellent for the price!Battery life and Durability: I wear these earbuds A LOT (I can hear street noise inside my house at all hours, and wearing earbuds helps me to focus); while walking, exercising, cleaning, cooking, and also while showering (when I am not submerging my head in water of course), and the p40i have been perfect for all of those! The battery life is incredible, even after months of daily use- the battery life of the p40i is definitely better than that of the 1st gen AP Pros (which struggled to maintain even 2 hrs use even when fully charged after 2 yrs). They are definitely water-resistant and durable as well, having survived multiple instances of light water exposure and multiple drops. I have not kept the case in any sort of protector, and there are essentially no visible scratches on the exterior (again, this is another category in which the p40i offers better performance in my opinion than Apple’s airpods).Connectivity + conclusion: I used to think only Apple products could connect so seamlessly to my iPhone (which is a major selling point of Apple’s Airpods), but these p40i changing my mind! 98% of the time, I am connecting these to my iPhone 14. Connection is seamless, and I have only had to fully re-pair my phone and the p40i once in 5 months of ownership (pairing is also incredibly easy). Also, I have a Dell laptop and a Surface Pro (Windows OS), and the connectivity between my computers and the p40i is a much nicer experience than that of my computers and the Apple AirPods. Conclusion: Honestly, I will not be buying any AirPods device again because of the experience I have had with the p40i- although Airpods work great and are nice, I’ve accepted that earbuds in general just won’t last forever with daily use, so it doesn’t make sense to spend over $100 on them. In 2-3 years when I’m ready for new earbuds, I will likely buy one of Soundcore’s more expensive models as I am truly impressed with the overall quality of these budget-friendly p40i earbuds!

Dropped it in carnitas, still works
I owned the Soundcore P3i’s for a couple years prior to this, and after one finally got run over by a car and crushed, I decided to try these out. I have now had these for about a year, and am very happy with them.Negatives:- They don’t stay in my ears as well as the P3i’s (although that may just be me).- I put earbuds in my pockets loose often, and I’m always bumping the touch controls.- Sound out of the box is meh. Switching to the acoustic profile in the app made them sound great, though.- Passive noise cancelling is meh. That’s also fine, though, as it is not advertised.Positives:- Comfortable.- Sound is GREAT for the price point once you go into the app.- Active noise cancelling works as expected.- Bluetooth range is good. They only start cutting out if I walk all the way across the house.- Call quality is good.- Battery life is good. I usually have one in at a time, but even with both, they’ve never died on me inconveniently.- Definitely water-resistant! I have accidentally dropped them in water and gotten rained on many times.- Durable! The last point is the reason I’m leaving this review. Last night, I accidentally dropped one in hot pork fat while I was cooking. I thought that was definitely the end of these earbuds, so I just washed it with soap and water and prayed. I let it dry overnight, and I just tried it out–it still works! How!? It’s maybe ever so slightly quieter than the other one, but the sound quality is unaffected. I’m going to leave it out for a bit longer and check on it again tomorrow.I’m not mad about having spent $50 on these, but if you can get them on sale, they’re definitely worth the money.

Fantastic! But loose.
I love everything about these earbuds!! …with one notable exception. After four years with my Soundcore Anker Life A2 NC earbuds, which I absolutely LOVE, I wanted to see if I could get a better noise cancellation with something newer. I primarily use my A2s for listening to music while I mow the lawn. Why not be entertained as I protect my hearing? I went with these P40i because not only do they have active noise cancelling but adaptive as well. I was immediately impressed. The sound is creamy and deep. The look and weight is bang on. The app is intuitive. Setup was a breeze. Bluetooth connectivity is instant. The noise cancelling is noticeable. Battery life is very good. And then I tried mowing with them. They simply will not stay put. They come with several of the rubber tips in various sizes. I tried a few. No matter how good the fit is, they would not stay put. Simply stated, there is nothing but the friction of that tip to keep the device tight in your ear. If they aren’t tight, then ambient noise leaks through. ANC defeated! Once you sweat or bend forward, they get loose, and in comes the outside noise. You will find yourself fiddling with them, listening to them beep from the touch control you’re not actually trying to activate. That’s a big fail for me. My A2s have a small rubber bit that keeps the bud pressed into your ear. The P40i does not.If you want something good for daily use like at the library or on a subway or maybe while jogging, these will do wonderfully. If you want something to keep the noise of a lawn mower out so you don’t need to turn the volume all the way up to hear anything, these will disappoint.

Goodbye AirPods!!!
There’s no wrong with these earbuds !!! Take it from an amateur music producer. The bass THUMP!!! The EQ on the app is a 10/10 . Microphone quality is great , I work in a warehouse and even with all the machines on the microphones pickup crystal clear! Better than any 120$ earbuds I bought in the past . Definitely worth the money !! Connects extremely fast every time you put them in your ear . Fits perfect in the ear . Case is perfect size for quick travels. Battery life is superb even with ANC on.

ANC feature is worst as if it does not exist.

Bought these on sale for working out. They’re comfortable for long periods of time and the battery lasts forever. Sound is superb for the price – I can control EQs with presets or fully custom options. Five different sized ear buds make these suitable for pretty much any size ear, so that was a nice addition in the package.I personally don’t like aggressive ANC, so the modest noise cancelling is great for me (RTINGS pegged it at about -8 decibels overall, although it was -13 to -14 decibels better in certain scenarios, such as airplane/office/street). I walk extensively and like to be able to hear traffic, and when working out I want to know when people are nearby so I don’t bump into anyone. Wind reduction works quite well, although isn’t perfect. Again, not a flaw for me – I’d rather have more natural sound throughput than artificial silence.Charging is fast, the case is sturdy and small, with a magnetic closure. Everything just works really well together.Bluetooth connection is quick and reliable, with a surprisingly good range. I can leave my phone in one room and wander around my home without needing to worry about interrupted music/podcasting.I highly recommend these earbuds for your daily drivers. They’re not terribly expensive (I got them on sale – $69 CAD pre-tax) so you don’t have to worry about where they are every ten seconds. Their build quality is high and their sound quality is excellent. Seriously, I have more expensive earphones and they’re currently sitting on my desk gathering dust.

Only day 2 of usage so I can’t speak for battery life yet, but …Sound quality – utterly stunned at how wide the soundstage is and clarity of all frequencies, from the bass to mid to treble. I’ve been using many (I keep losing them) A90 Pro cheapos whose noise cancelling never worked and sound quality was always variable. I love the app which did an analysis of my hearing and gave me a custom EQ.Noise cancelling – again, utterly brilliant. In auto mode it works a treat and in manual mode on max setting, the kitchen fan virtually disappears. It’s not quite like mu Bose on ear QC headphones but very impressive at this price point (£38 at the time of writing).Case – very clever little case with what was a strange pull up notch which my son discovered and told me it is a phone stand! And I notice the bottom of the case has a rubberised bit that stops it moving about – very clever.App – again very user friendly and intuitive with loads of functionality – from EQ to the brilliantly useful flexibility of being able to set what taps down what functions.Fit – the fit is perfect for my adult ears. Like all things in-ear the key is to find the correct sized rubber / silicone bits (of which it comes with many variations) to properly seal into the ear canal – reducing noise and improving fit.Downside – not as responsive to taps as the A90s were but for now I’m wondering if it’s me just getting used to a difference in responsiveness?🤷♂️I’ll update this review as I experience them for longer, but first impressions are of a very high quality product. Bought a second set for my son. Especially as I find the volume is 1/2 of what it needed to be on the A90 pros due to better sound and actual working ANC!Update 12-Sep-25: battery life is stunningly good, ANC works flawlessly, no connection issues – in fact I have it connected to my laptop and phone at the same time. a VERY happy customer
