Good trim kit for Ecobee thermostat, easy install
Works exactly as stated, easy install, didn’t even need the parts bag that came with it. I used the original parts with the thermostat and followed the step by step installation instructions on the app. Looks good, covered all the gaps and unpainted wall. Perfect fit.

Does do what it was designed to do
Didn’t fit when mounted horizontally. The Ecobee I purchased had a trim plate included that worked out anyway. The Ecobee product info did not indicate it, so look harder.This trim plate has some basic design flaws. It was also previously opened and some of mounting hardware was missing. Mounting hardware is not a good term to describe the crummy, cheap, screws and drywall anchors they use. Yes, they are similar to that which Ecobee supplies, but those suck too. Nobody actually put any thought into this design.

Perfect to hide the holes from the old thermostat. Bought this for my mom and it hides all but one hole from the previous dumb thermostat.

Good product but can be unnecessarily troublesome to install
Go this 2nd Ecobee thermostat to replace the last of mu 4 Carrier thermostats. The process turned out to be unnecessarily difficult (I’ve already installed one about a year ago w/o incident). In this package, no instructions were included requiring you to connect to their install instructions online, Problem was I had one extra wire (blue) then the standard, so they required me to contact support who quickly said to connect the blue wire to “C” on the wiring block. Which I readily did but THEN I had no further instructions because the online set stopped. Ended up I had to use two call’s w live technicians to get through the process. ABSOLUTLEY UNNECESSARY!! A complete set of instructions included with the product would have done the trick. And THEN when I tried to add the new thermostat to my network, it seemed OK but came up with the message that the device couldn’t be added – “power it down and try again”, which I did with same result. Therefore, ANOTHER call to support who recommended a different menu option to install that worked.

A little high priced, but good fit
While a little larger (and higher priced) than I would have liked, its main purpose is to cover holes from the previous older, typically rectangular, thermostat being replaced. That it does. Same quality and color material as the ecobee unit which it fits well, easy install, and included a couple sets of hardware for different attachments.
