Decent TEMPORARY stand in for AB 1783-ETAP
TRENDnet 5-Port is a decent stand in for AB 1783-ETAP if you’re in a bind with the recent ETAP delays and using Stratix switches is not an option. This is NOT a permanent replacement for ETAP, but does work – it’s roughly the same size, it’s quick can easy to install/replace, can be assigned an IP, ethernet devices will connect/run fine.Issues (when using this switch in place of an ETAP in your network) – Not supported by AB, does not support ring topology, time to reestablish connection after power cycling is longer and increase significantly with more switches the network.Overall, it works well as a stop gap while waiting for actual ETAPs to arrive.

    Works great
Work in a hot condition 135F work great.

  3. Paul Carr

    It works
I have it installed on a DIN rail in the attic. It hasn’t been through the full range of temperatures yet, so we’ll see. Of course, I had to buy and hook up a power supply for it, bur this was not a big deal.

  4. automation geek

Does the job for less money.
Seems like a good quality industrial network switch. I used it in a control panel with a PLC and touch screen.

  5. Bill

Got for industrial use, not for home use
It mounts nicely on a DIN rail but you can’t easily access the release spring once it is mounted. This makes it hard to release it from the rail or move it once you have it in place. It is fairly low power and has support for dual power supplies. It doesn’t come with it’s own 12v adapter but if you are running this in a DIN rail built enclosure you probably have a 12v din power supply. If not then you will need to get one.

  6. Tim Maynard

    Cheap switch, works great.
Needed a new switch for my Christmas lights panels quick. it worked great.

  7. Joseph T.

Very good switch for use in tight location.
Needed a switch on the receiving end of a ubiquity link for network expansion to a remote building 800 ft from main building. Din rail mounting and power supply connections made location and power an easy task.

  8. Buyer253

Works good on 12v in the boat
Product worked great for what I needed

  9. Jose Murillo

    Works as expected

  10. nvm

    Cheap,best and compact.

  11. Terran Goertzen

simple to install and use, no complaints

  12. racer

Does what it’s supposed to do.Simple, no frills, DIN rail mounted switch that can be powered by two independent DC power supplies. The DIN rail clip is Aluminum and strong enough but not super solid. we use a DIN mounted MeanwellPSU with 24Vdc without any issues. The switch chip is a simple 100Mbit/s 5 port. Do not expect high network bandwith from this device.

  13. David Irwin

    Works well
