I’m in love with my Echo and wish I had gotten one sooner
I don’t have any experience with previous models of the Dot, so I can’t really judge the audio quality based on past iterations. I know some people have said the sound depth is not as good. I am also not an audiophile, so… the sound is amazing to my ear! It achieves great volume, I listen to music through the Dot and it all sounds great to me.Using the Alexa app, it’s super easy to connect all kinds of products. The microphone pics me up when I am not loud, so I don’t have to yell at Alexa. I also paired the Dot with some bluetooth headphones, and no issues there. The one big feature I bought this for was to connect my fire TV to the Dot as a speaker. Surprisingly, that is not a feature that is live yet. They say it will be released this year, so I hope so. It seems kind of trivial to use the Dot as a speaker for another device, but what do I know?Anyway, I love the product and have no regrets. And the color is so nice (I got the amethyst). I am debating getting another one to have stereo sound, but also not sure I care enough about that in my small space. The audio is already very good, and I think I’d have to have more space to separate the speakers for that to be worth it.

My smart home is now a “smart home.” Also, Alexa+ is awesome!
RECOMMEND:Yes.PROs:• Works with Alexa+ (Amazon’s AI). Alexa+ is significantly better than its predecessor. (Free subscription with an Amazon Prime account.)• The voice is way better. More natural. Quicker response time.• The response with Matter devices seamless. Uses Thread too!• Extends your Eero WiFi. (I had not idea!) It’s not a switch/router… just an extender.CONs:• Music audio is thin. Don’t expect an immersive experience. Treat like a cool little desk-side speaker.• Alex+ is a neutral (neutered) AI. It will not give you it’s opinion on topics like politics. It’s just an assistant.BACKGROUND:I recently became frustrated with how my Echo towers (ver. 1/2015) were interacting with my home “smart” devices. I had a conversation with ChatGPT and it told me that my Echo towers were most likely the culprits since they do not have the ability to talk to Matter devices or use Thread. After installing two of these new Echo Dot Max, all my problems went away.If you’re like me and you’re still rockin’ old Echo devices and are experiencing connectivity issues with your smart home, do yourself a favor and upgrade to these new Echo devices that can run Alexa+ and have Matter/Thread support.

    Not a good experience!
This thing was messing with my TV during initial setup and again when it did a software update to Alexa+ . I have a “smart TV”, a Sony Bravia in my livingroom. It has built-in support for both Google and Alexa. I never turned these features on to my knowledge, but apparently Alexa was trying to sync with my TV during its initial setup. Suddenly my TV’s volume control would not work. It was slow and sporadic. I tried turning it off, then on again. That didn’t help. The rest of the day, I could not get the volume control to work. I had visions of having to call a repairman or even getting a new TV. I went to bed that night very unhappy. However, the next day my TV worked just fine. Then the real trouble started when Alexa asked if I would like to switch to Alexa+. I said yes. Big mistake. I won’t go into all my issues with Alexa+ here — just the TV issues — again. Alexa told me it had to update its software and it would take a few minutes. I happened to have my TV on and tuned to Amazon Prime Video. My TV screen went black and there was no sound. It was on because I could see its small power light on. When Alexa came back from doing its update, I asked why it turned my TV off. Alexa said “there was no TV”. I tried turning the TV off, then on again. That didn’t help. Only unplugging the Echo Dot Max, then turning the TV off, then on again brought it back to normal operation. There have been other issues, but I won’t go into them here. This morning I did a factory reset on the Echo Dot Max and boxed it up. I may return it or give it to a family member.

    The Best Dot Ever!
I love the Dot Max. Especially, the different colors are nice👌🏽. I got the purple 🟣 one. It sounds crystal 🔮 clear. It fits perfectly in a certain spot next to my Bed 🛏️. I wish 🙏🏽 this one had the time like the others, but it’s ok. I know it’s coming, 😆. The features are even better. I like that you can setup easier and the buttons are on the front instead of the top. The cost is not bad at all. It works well with the Alexa+. She’s faster than ever and her response is even better. She talks to you like a real person does, wow 😳. You’re going to love this Dot Max and I highly recommend it. I might get another one 😜.

I love my echo dots. I had really expensive Sonos speakers in the living areas and the echo dots in the bedrooms. The echo dots were so easy to set up. My Sonos speakers dropped off the network all the time or just wouldn’t connect with Spotify. I made a decision when this new speaker came out to sell my Sonos and buy an updated Echo Dot. I plugged it in and it immediately said contact customer service. It took 45 minutes to get it set up with Spotify. I was so disappointed. It is working fine now though so hopefully there won’t be any issues. The sound is good I only gave it a 3 star because set up was a nightmare
