A LOT better than the Ecobee plate
The wall plate that Ecobee offers simply didn’t fit on my wall the way I wanted it to, so I was happy to get this and have it fit so well. I appreciate that this plate goes for a more squared approach, because it fits on my wall just that much better compared to the rectangular plate that Ecobee offered.One thing that I don’t LOVE is that the plastic finish of this plate is coated in that soft-touch material that I have seen deteriorate and turn sticky time and time again. It is a coating that really has no business being on something like this, and honestly a normal matte or even glossy plastic would have been completely fine. I did want to get this in white to help the thermostat blend in a bit more with the wall, but the black plate still looks pretty good and matches with the thermostat well.

Love this thermostat! I replaced it with a honeywell that kept giving me issues every-time the power went out. The installation was easy and its basically plug and play from there.
