  1. Hey it’s me!

Easy to use, easy to program, and easy to set up the app on your phone!
I just moved into a house built in the 90s that had a completely ancient thermostat. Honestly, I could not even figure out how to use it, it was just so archaic! I bought this and had a professional install it, so I can’t comment on the installation process, but I can say that it didn’t take the guy I hired too long to do it, and I didn’t hear any groaning or swearing, so I’m guessing it was pretty easy as long as you know what you’re doing! 🙂 The interface is very intuitive and easy to figure out, and setting up the app on my phone was a breeze — the Ecobee unit basically walks you through it.Features: I can set the temperature I want it to cool my house down to, the temp I want it to heat my house up to, and I can set it to auto (it will heat or cool as necessary) or I can specially just tell it to cool or to heat. There are settings for vacation mode. But really the best for me is the app! If I’m away from the house, I can check on what the temp is and I can turn the heat or A/C on while I’m away — say, 1 hour before I’m about to arrive home, so my house is at my desired temp when I arrive! Also, if I’m in my back room and feeling too lazy to walk to the center of the house where the thermostat is, I just whip out my phone, open the app, and turn the A/C on or off (whatever I am looking to do) without having to get off the couch! Ah, modern technology is awesome! :-)I did not integrate it with Alexa as I don’t have Alexa, and I did not use the remote sensor so I cannot comment on that, though that does seem like a handy little extra!

    Big upgrade from most thermostats
The ecobee4 has multiple settings which when used result in reduced electric bills for our heat pump system. It has clear instructions and is easy to install.

Quick and Easy install, even for an old HVAC system…
My house was built in the 60s, the HVAC is about 20 years old…I bought this to help maintain better temperature in the home and better regulate the older system…It works fantastic. It comes with the adapter to hook up an older system… it plugs in just right, super easy…And it maintains the temperature in our home much better…We get 2 total sensors in the package (the thermostat has a built-in one) and the extra one… and we bought 2 more of the Room Sensors (updated) and they link up to the system just fine.I recommend between 3 and 4 total sensors, on each floor, to give the system the best chance of working properly with this system. It is saving me money, nearly paying for the thermostat and sensors… by the end of summer, it will have paid for itself. That is a bonus, because next year, it will save me money.Alexa integration works flawlessly…

    Sold me on smart thermostats!
Replaced 2 year old programmable, non-smart thermostat without a sensor. Thermostat (for upstairs zone in 2 zone house) located in son’s bedroom (teenager) who kept the door shut most of the time. This made the rest of the upstairs cold during winter and warm during summer because the thermostat was getting a false reading. The smart thermostat with additional independent sensor (sensor was placed in a bedroom furthest from the bedroom with thermostat) has kept the temperature more even and warmer so far this winter (2 months into installation). Will see how it reacts during the summer months. So far I’m really impressed in happy how it maintains the set temperature even with the teenager keeping the door closed.

Works great, but room sensor wont pair
Thermostat itself works great, full of features I’ll never use. The remote sensor refuses to connect. Thermostat will repeatedly ask to connect and it will spin and try to sync and then fail, then find the sensor again, over and over. Tried all the online suggestions and rebooting both, nothing works.

    Wonderful and spectacular thermostat.
Love these things. Bought 2 one for each AC unit. They can be programmed for day time, sleep time, away time, vacation time. Do t have to worry about changing the thermostat up and down or forgetting to turn up or down at night or in the mornings when waking up. Has Alexa and remote sensors to tell temps of rooms needed the most. Can lock out the keypad so no one can change the temp or settings. Came with step by step instructions for install. Very simple install and self explanatory.

Ecobee4 Thermostat device goes offline and never working again
I like this product,Ecobee4, when it is working. You can control the temperature from the phone and you can control when you’re away and home. The problem is that when it goes offline, my A/C in Houston will be hot and can be unbearable. There are no backup or manual control to override offline. I called the Ecobee support and the lady was very helpful and patience. I give thumb up on service support but disappointed that the device didn’t work. The support lady walked me through several steps to figure out the problem. We made several attempts but still didn’t work. I took several pictures of Ecobee4 setup and everything was correct. Instead of trying to diagnose on my A/C main system, I told her if I can put back my old one and if that works then this product is defective. It’s that simple.

    Accurate and reliable
So we’ve had this thermostat for a while now. I placed the sensors on the furthest ends of the house, one being my teenage daughter’s room that had a separate thermostat because it was an addition. Now this sensor has been in her room for some time now but the last few weeks she’s been telling us to turn down the heat because it gets really hot at night. I got a notification from ecobee last night to check my unit because the thermostat was reading below 60. I checked my app and sure enough the sensor was reading 37 degrees so the heat was cranked in that part of the house. I thought maybe the batteries or something with the sensor was glitching so I unpaired it for a quick fix. When I talked to her today I found out that she forgot what the sensor was and thought it was an old piece of Internet equipment and threw it away a couple weeks ago. Y’all this sensor has been reading the outside temp at night from a landfill about 20 miles away!!! Don’t know how but all I can say is that it’s accurate and reliable to say the least
