    good for security
Just as described. Arrived promptly.I bought these and mounted on my windows and they were easy to install and the sticky back is very strong. I like how I can set their trigger in the app to notify me whether it’s instant or if the window is left open. It’s nice because when I leave my house i can check the app if I am second guessing if I shut them all and I don’t have to go home to reverify. Love the profucts.

    Simple but they work
When you first put the batteries in these sensors be prepared for them to immediately sound a loud alarm. Setup wasn’t too difficult but I couldn’t for the life of me get google home to realize they existed, even though all of my other existing geeni products were always detected instantly. Also when I changed the settings they didn’t always stick the first time and I had to try again.I just checked back 6 weeks later now and google home does finally list the door alarm but Google Assistant still refuses to tell me whether or not my door is open, my phone says the “device isn’t set up” and my Google Home speaker just tells me about a company called front door. Not sure if this part of the problem is on Geeni or on Google. But it did from day one instantly work with my Amazon Alexa. As for its functionality, I often get duplicate door closed notifications a few seconds apart which clogs up the feed. Also even with the alarm disabled I still get alarm cleared in my log history every time I close the door. So combined with the door open alert that’s 4 notifications in the app every time the door is used.Being able to see the last time the door was opened is nice though. The alarm functionality was annoying and a bit pointless for me, the alarm turns on and off instantly if the door is open/close so it would be unlikely to get anyones attention if they just shut the door immediately. Personally I’d like also like an option for a door ajar alert/alarm when a door is left open for a certain amount of time. Speaking of, the sensor couldn’t always tell my door was open when it was cracked slightly, I wish you could tune the sensitivity.I got these thinking I could do all sorts of cool automations with my smart lights and etc but then I realized the sensors have no way of knowing if I am coming or going which means half the time my automation is going to be doing the opposite of what I want. I didn’t bother setting any up.As far as battery life goes, I’ve had it running for 1-2 months on the original battery and no issue yet. I think the app says it’s at 53% battery. I do have the alarm disabled though and I’m sure turning that on would have an effect on your battery life.Update: I got a low battery warning from the app today, a little over 2 months after first setting it up.

A good contact sensor with a simple alarm and good Alexa integration
This is a good contact sensor with an alarm and Alexa integration. The contact sensor is powered by a pair of AAA batteries which are included. The sensor is triggered at a distance of about 5/8″ (16mm). The reaction time to the device is instant, but there’s a built-in delay that prevents the alarm from triggering for 5 seconds. Mounting is via the included tape, as there are no holes. There doesn’t appear to be a tamper trigger to let you know that the device has been opened. Setting up the app was simple using Smart Life (Tuya). (2.4 GHz wifi only). The device was immediately recognized, and Alexa picked it up a couple seconds later. The app lets you change the delay time and volume. It can let you turn off the built-in siren, too, turning this into a standard contact sensor. I also like that the app can fine tune which actions trigger notifications, such as door open/closed. Alexa sees this device as simply a contact sensor rather than alarm, so only the door open/closed sensor is available. This works fine in routines.
