Some really nice router features
I have a lot of IT experience. I was surprised by the feature set available on this router. It has all of the features mentioned in the listing plus a few more that I really like. One of these added features is a separate SSID for IoT devices. These are devices like smart speakers, security cameras, or thermostats. In many cases these devices don’t get security updates as often as they should and they can pose additional security risks for your home network. Having these on a separate IoT network, allows these devices to access the internet but they are unable to “see” other devices on your home network. These prevents them from damaging laptops, PCs or other devices on your home network if the the IoT devices is ever compromised. You can download an app to access the router if you wish to but that is not necessary as you can just access it at it’s default address of 192.168.124.1. I like that you can have separate SSIDs for the 2.4g and 5g networks. You can also turn on a guest network if you want. You can turn off the WiFi on a set schedule. This would be very handy if you want to turn of children’s devices at a certain time every night. You can set static IPs for the clients. Also supports IPv6. You can rate limit by IP address so you could stop the game system from hogging all of your bandwidth when you want to work from home. It has a built in DDNS client. Has a good number of built in security tools to stop the typical attacks like DDoS.I am very happy with this router. This is more than enough for your typical residential user or college student. The range and speed match that of any brand name router I have configured and used. This router will not be your speed bottle neck. Set up was easy and there is lots of good information available via the web interface. Absolutely no issues with this router.

Setup was extremely easy!
This is an honest, unbiased review for the H3C AX5400 WiFi 6 Router….The HC3 dual band (2.4/5G) router surpassed my expectations on increasing my WIFI range and speed. I tried it both as an access point as well as repeater mode and both worked flawlessly.Setup was extremely easy and was the easiest of any router or modem I’ve used. Simply plug in the power cable, plug in the WAN cable, connect the other side of the WAN cable to your WIFI port in the wall or your modem and let it auto setup for about 2-3 minutes. Once it’s completed, open your wifi settings on your phone or computer and connect to the network. It will open the connection page where you can enter in a new SSID name, wifi password, and security info. Easy peasy. No subscription nonsense, no information needed by the manufacturer website, just set it up and go!It has configurable WIFI access schedules for when you are offline, as well as internet usage monitoring which are both handy for security and basic monitoring of when you your network is being used. You can use their app on your phone to change any network settings and this is very convenient for when you are outside and might need to change from 5G to 2.4 mode for extra range.I was getting speeds over 450Mbps download and 9Mbps upload right away, all the way out to the end of my driveway and I’m on one of the lowest cable plans from my provider. You can see the speed test results in the two photos I’ve added.Build quality is good with sturdy plastic housing and robust antennae design. Vented back allows heat dissipation. The asking price is reasonable for this quality router. I think this is a great choice for adding or boosting your WIFI speeds and range. Especially if you already have a WIFI 6 modem, this is a great addition! Recommended!

Gamers of the world unite!
It may be petty, but the only reason why I did not give this a five-star was because I had a lot of issues setting up my network. I have used a lot of routers over the years, but for some reason this particular model gave me some heartaches,I have this as a dedicated router for my gaming setup and also some Smart TVs in the basement that the main router seemed to keep missing. It’s signal strength is stronger than my default router which is nice. The speeds are comparable so that is cool, but the biggest thing is the range. It functions like any other router so if you have had internet in the last 10 years you’re familiar with it and the size is less than a shoe so it’s discreet. Overall, this is a fun purchase for anyone looking to upgrade their setup

This item was provided to me free of charge through Amazon’s wonderful vine program, it gives me the opportunity to test and evaluate products I wouldn’t normally look at, in return I leave an unbiased product review as to whether I like a product or not. what makes a product good, or in some cases what makes a product bad, these are my opinions and my opinions alone, they are in no way swayed by Amazon or the manufactures of the product.I have only been using this for a short while but what use I have had has been wonderful. The speeds I’m getting are exactly as my service provider, provides. long gone are the days of running at half the speed I pay for with some horrible excuse from my ISP.So far I am not having to use my mesh system as the connectivity through the house is okay and stable, the only problem I’m having it my door bell having a weak signal, But I have always had issue with that. The reliability has also been spot on, no more rebooting the router every time I end up buffering whilst trying to watch something on prime.I don’t I have the range I would have liked, therefore I will probably end up using my mesh system, but that is not the fault of this router, the stability of this is spot on, it is just how my property is laid out that causes certain issue, especially around my doorbell.Overall, very happy with this and the price it is now with the voucher is truly is a star buy.Highly recommended.

Another, and the last, Edit:Let’s just say in two days what I have been watching hasn’t lagged once whereas previously it could, on occasions, be regular. This unit has gone from almost being smashed to pieces and binned, to being a life saver. Never been happier to be wrong.Edit:After reading the reviews that came after mine I thought it has to be me. Nobody else seems to have had anything like the problems I had so I gave it a third go.After re reading the instructions and doing some online research, I got it working but I still have no idea what I was doing wrong before.Anyway, everything is up and running and connected now. The app makes management a doddle and the connection is strong and steady. My apologies to the manufacturer and seller. I do think the instructions could be clearer though.Try as I might, I could not get this to work. The instructions were poor as was the manual. The app assumed you knew what you were doing so was no help at all except to say the scan didn’t find a match.I’m pretty good with this sort of stuff but it had me totally stumped after almost two hours trying. Again, a lack of troubleshooter is a big miss. The small bottom light in the image is red but at one point it did go green but the scan still didn’t find it.Maybe it’s me but I don’t know what else I could have tried. It looks nice enough and I see another reviewer had no problems. If you give it ago then you are always covered by Amazon’s excellent returns system.

I’ve been using the H3C AX5400 Dual-Band WiFi 6 Router (NX54) and it has completely transformed how my home network feels. Setup was smooth and straightforward. It walked me through everything step-by-step, and within minutes the whole house was online. The signal strength is impressive; even in areas that used to be dead zones, I now get a solid connection. Streaming 4K content and gaming simultaneously across multiple devices hasn’t caused any slowdowns or buffering issues. The router handles heavy traffic with ease, and the connection remains consistently stable throughout the day.I really appreciate the built-in security features and the peace of mind they bring. There’s a good balance between performance and smart protection, and managing everything through the app has been intuitive.Overall, this router delivers exactly the kind of smooth, reliable, and modern home networking experience I was hoping for.

Tested this in a 3 bedroom terrace home, with multiple dark spots, here in the UK. It’s easy to setup, with the usual wizard putting you through the process. I have mine setup with a 5G modem, connected via ethernet into the router. I didn’t use my mesh setup with this, keeping it raw, so to speak. It handled most areas of my home with full-speed wifi coverage, minus the problematic areas, as expected. Not even my Asus router can cope with that, so it’s no real surprise this didn’t either. Only a mesh system can fix that. For the price, it’s good value. The issue for me, as with all CN-based companies, is security. I believe H3C have allowed OpenWRT firmware on their devices in the past, so as soon as one becomes available for this, I’ll probably flash it, and use it as an additional access point on my home network (and a spare router of course, in case the main Asus one fails).Either way, a decent router for the price, with no real complaints from me.
