Good mulitmeter with a small modification.
This multimeter funcationallity is just fine, The only reason I gave it 4 stars, is the way you have to access the charging port. You have to find a very small Phillips screw driver to remove the back plate. But the back plate does not simply detatch. You need a box cutter blade to lift the back plate up and out. However, all this to charge the battery was to much for me. I removed the back plate and modified it so I do not have to remove the back plate at all. I simply carved out some of the back plate so I could plug in the charging cable. Then replaced the back plate. The mod only took about 5 minutes.

Very easy to use with many features
For many years I have been using a Triplet Model 630-NS Volt-Ohm-Milliammeter for my electrical measurement needs. While adequate for ordinary use, that VOM is somewhat complicated to use. You need to know what you are measuring and there are seven different scales to select from when measuring ordinary voltages.This new smart meter eliminates all these problems. You don’t have to know if you are connecting to an AC or DC circuit nor do you need to know levels or the polarity. DC readings are displayed as negative numbers when the common input is connected to the positive terminal. AC readings are displayed with red numbers, other readings are white. There is no noticeable delay while this meter auto ranges.In addition, this meter has many functions not available from older VOM devices. It is supplied with a thermocouple to read temperature. The manual does not specify the type of thermocouple so you will need to guess, experiment, or contact the manufacturer if it is ever lost or needs replacement. Because thermocouples measure the difference between two different temperatures, the meter needs to know the temperature at its input terminals. After performing that calculation, it displays the room temperature of the meter in degrees centigrade almost all the time.It has the ability to read capacitance, and without contact tell if a wire is live, or find the hot (non- grounded) wire in an AC circuit. I found the live wire test very sensitive if you can place the meter very close to the wire. It worked on a 12 VAC LED display. However, if you cannot place the meter very close to the live wire it doesn’t work well. I could not trace Romex wiring in my home through the drywall even when it was operating a flat iron. It has a continuity test mode that plays a tone when the test leads detect less than 50 Ohms. The tone is not very loud and could be missed in a noisy environment. It has the ability to display the frequency of an AC signal. I found a test tone application on the internet and connected this meter to my speaker. The frequency readings on the meter were within two LSD digits of the digital setting displayed in the app.It is supplied with a rechargeable battery and a USB type C charging cable. You might expect that there would be a type C connector somewhere on the case for connection to the cable. This is not the case. Actually, you need to remove a Philips screw on the back and remove a display stand foot to reveal the charging port connection (see photo). This fact is not mentioned in any of the five languages in the instruction manual.I compared AC and DC voltage readings from my Triplet meter and this meter. I also measured the resistance of some ¼% tolerance resistors. All types of readings agreed well within the stated accuracy specifications. In short, this is a very easy to use meter with many features and has a good accuracy. I would have no problems recommending this product. It also is supplied with a nice carrying case.

Works as designed, some small issues
I like the auto feature on this thing, though most people will use it on one of the main settings and be done with it anyway. The screen is easy to read in low light, but nearly impossible to read in sunlight, despite being as bright as it is. I use it on my RV, cars and boat, all which have me using it out in the sun very often and I tend to get frustrated with not being able to easily read the numbers.The auto feature “guesses” what you are trying to read, and I find that it rarely guesses that I am trying to read a 12 volt system, but changing it manually is a little trickier for 12 volt – it doesn’t want to stay where I put it.All in all, it is a good voltmeter for most, but I do get frustrated with it more than I’d like.

Easy to use
I have looked at multimeters many times over the years, but every time I was too intimidated by all the unknown symbols and settings on the dial. I was pretty sure I’d spend the money and discover that I don’t know enough about electricity to even use the thing. As such I have changed my mind every time I have looked at them. I ordered this multimeter with some of the same trepidation, but I like electronics and the idea of a fully digital interface appealed to me.After this arrived I read the included manual, but it wasn’t all that helpful other than learning that the black lead always goes to the common port. The included manual assumes that the user has more knowledge about testing electricity than what I have. However, after maybe an hour of additional reading and watching videos on the internet I was up and running at least with the basics. The multimeter was charged and ready to go when it arrived. I am going through a process of translating the information from the internet about using the dial type multimeters to this fully digital multimeter and that is a bit of a struggle, but everything on this multimeter seems to be well organized.This multimeter has an auto ranging function that is apparently not a common feature but very useful to me so I don’t have to guess at the range setting. It works great to test continuity and voltage, the main two functions that I need and will use. The thermometer feature has also come in handy. I may never use all of the other functions and features, but I’m thrilled to finally have a multimeter when I need it and I look forward to learning how to use more of its functions.P.S. After writing this review I went to charge the multimeter only to discover that there are no external USB ports. As indicated in the Amazon description, the screws holding the back of the case on must be removed to recharge the battery. Imagine if cellphone technology required that multiple screws be removed when it was time to recharge the battery! For me this is not a big deal as I am not someone who will use my multimeter often or for long each time, but it is certainly something to be aware of if you will use it often.

Display zu dunkel,im freien kaum erkennbar,bei Sonne nicht erkennbar also für Arbeiten im Aussenbereich ungeeignet. Auf dem Foto waren die Farben hell und kräftig,Realität leider anders.Frontscheibe muss härter sein. Display Winkel ungünstig da beim direkten betrachten nichts erkennbar ist.Ablesung nur waagerecht möglich also wenn es auf dem Tisch liegt .Gut ist die Größe und der aufladbare Accu. Als Tischgerät im sitzen am Arbeitsplatz verwendbar.Ein Diplay sollte in jedem Winkel ablesbar sein.
