Just had fiber optic installed and while here had the tech check the splitter – he reported almost no drop in throughput due to having the splitter on line. Have had this almost two years, has worked flawlessly and efficiently. Wish everything I bought worked as well.

Since some Amazon reviews will be mixed with other models by the same manufacturer, I should mention this review is for the Tenda TEM2010F, 8 Port 2.5G Ethernet Switch.I connected this switch to a 2.5Gb port on my router and then connected the ethernet cable from 2.5Gb devices. Everything is running great and file transfer speeds are what they should be for this speed switch.I am adding to 2.5Gb equipment and upgrading my internet speed, so I needed a 2.5Gb switch with more ports. I hate using more than one switch, but I will not have enough 2.5Gb equipment to justify replacing my 24 port gigabit switch. This Tenda switch has more than enough ports to meet my needs for a little while.Some reviews mention the switch getting hot, but it’s difficult to say if it is this one since the reviews include different models by this companies. It does get slightly warmer than my other switches, but it does not seem excessive.I am really eager to do some internet speeds tests, but I first must wait for my provider to install a new ONT for that can handle 2.5Gb+.

Sweet Little Unit – Just Don’t Buy It for the Blinkenlights
There are very few inexpensive gigabit switches with indicator LEDs, other than on the sockets. I’ve only found two. So I tried this one first.This switch is amazingly tiny, lightweight, low power, works great and is a good value.But I wanted blinkenlights. From the photos, I thought the LEDs would be visible from a wide angle. Actually they can be seen from the top but not the front. The angle is narrow and they can’t be seen at all from more than a few feet away.I had to have blinkenlights, so I couldn’t keep it. But it’s so cute – I couldn’t send it back. Fortunately a friend was looking for a switch, so he got this one. And I bought the TrendNet, which is not quite as lovable – but it has blinkenlights!

This switch handles 2.5 gbps without any problem. My old switch would not go beyond 1 gbps. The built in ports on the ATT fiber modem were also limited to 1 gbps. One port on the ATT modem (see photo) was designated for 5gbps. I connected the 5gbps port on the modem to connector number 1 on this switch. Then I connected the PC for my television, my personal PC, and my work PC to ports 2, 3, 4 on this switch. Set the operating mode to Standard, then plugged in power. If your connected devices are working then, in less than a minute you should see steady or blinking green lights. The left green light indicates 2.5 gbps type connection. Right green light indicates 1 gbps or slower connection. Steady yellow means a device is connected but not communicating. The instructions that come with the device show more complicated set ups, but for most people the connections I described above will work fine.

Excellent switch in performance, quality and price
I have tested this switch for its performance at 1GB Internet speeds, with tests on computers and also with another switch connected to the network, I have tested it with multiple connected devices such as computers, routers, TVs and 4K cameras, the performance has been excellent.I didn’t believe when they said that it wouldn’t get hot when using it, because generally switches get a little hot, but it’s true this switch doesn’t get hot, I’ve tested it for more than a month inside a drawer, it worked perfectly there without generating heat, since some months, I have had it running with many devices connected on a desk and it has worked perfectly.The design could be the only detail I have found, but it is not a problem, the device seems to be designed to be inside a rack or to be installed screwed “upside down” rather than to be installed on a table, but the It really doesn’t get hot despite not having a fan and allowing 16 ports to work simultaneously, for me it has been an excellent choice to expand my network in the more than 5 months that I have been using it.

Crikey this is small… not much wider than the five network cables you can put into it. Looks good and has slots to wall mount it. Comes with a power adaptor with enough cable. Just stick the network cables in and plug it into the mains and you’re up and running. Very impressed. I can’t hear any noise or hum at all. That is it. A great little box of tricks.

Lo switch è ok, l’abbiamo acquistato perché ne abbiamo un altro e ci siamo trovati benissimo.L’unico neo è che nella scatola non c’erano le 4 viti per il montaggio rack. Strano dal momento cho l’apparato nasce per il montaggio rack e nel precedente montato circa due anni fa le viti c’erano.

Love how small this switch is and can’t argue with the price. Seems to hold up to it’s gigabit rating. Hopefully it lasts a long time, if not I’ll edit this review. Being 5VDC this could be very DIY/Techie friendly for projects.

Este pequeño switch de 16 puertos lo compré para uso en el hogar. Es más pequeño físicamente de lo que se ve en las fotos, pero funciona muy bien. Es pequeño, ligero y se ve muy bien construido (NO es de plástico, es metálico y viene en un color “sepia” muy original, nada desagradable). Es totalmente silencioso (como dice en la publicidad). Es bonito y compacto. Se puede colgar (trae taquetes y pijas) o se puede poner en una superficie plana (mesa, charola, etc) pues vienen unas patitas de goma adhesivas que uno las pega en caso de ponerlo en una mesa.Incluye una opción para VLAN que no he explorado, pero es bueno saber que hace más que solo conmutar los datos en la red. De momento la opción VLAN la tengo desactivada (tiene un pequeño interruptor por la parte de atrás para poder activar/desactivar dicha opción VLAN).No he probado el switch a su máxima capacidad pues mi red NO ES GIGABIT, pero funciona muy bien el aparatito.Llevo pocos días usando el switch pero hasta hoy ha funcionado perfectamente. Lo recomiendo por su calidad y valor.
