I am extremely impressed with the quality and performance of the NEEWER 9.8″ Adjustable Magic Arm and Super Clamp set. Quality and Stable Extension and Clamp
A very versatile and handy magic arm and clamp that allows me endless variety in positioning my cameras.Very solid and quality build that will last for years and through all kinds of shooting environments, indoors and out.Although I got this to use on the walker I now use to get around, 50+ years as a professional photographer has given me the experiences and variety of cameras to know quality, easy to use equipment that will perform dependably. This is one tough and well made piece with a minimum of plastic.I would not hesitate to use this on action cameras, point and shoots, and other light cameras, lights, microphones, etc.

Solid Construction and Great Flexibility, But a Major Flaw in the Locking Mechanism.
The NEEWER 9.8″/25cm Adjustable Magic Arm with Super Clamp is a piece of gear that excels in construction and articulation but suffers from a critical design choice in its locking system.The construction is, without a doubt, its strongest feature. Made from a combination of aluminum alloy and stainless steel, this arm feels incredibly solid and built to last. It exhibits zero flex or wobble, even when supporting a small monitor, camera, or light panel at full extension. The quality machining and robust feel give full confidence in its durability for professional use. The accompanying Super Clamp is equally dependable, providing a vise-like grip on various supports.In terms of positioning, the arm is incredibly flexible. The 9.8 inches of length, coupled with the two 360-degree ball heads and the center elbow joint, grants an exceptional range of motion. This versatility allows you to achieve precise positioning in complex setups or very tight spaces where traditional light stands simply won’t fit.However, the arm’s biggest shortcoming lies in its single-knob locking mechanism. While the concept of a “one-knob-locks-all” system sounds efficient, it proved to be a major frustration in practical use. The central issue is that you cannot lock the two 360-degree ball heads independently. Turning the single knob simultaneously loosens or tightens all three articulation points—the center elbow and both end ball heads.This means you are forced to adjust all three axes at once. If you’ve perfectly set the angle of one ball head but need to slightly adjust the other, you must loosen the entire arm, risk shifting your first perfect angle, make your small change, and then attempt to re-lock everything at maximum torque. This process often leads to frustrating trial-and-error, as achieving that final, secure lock requires significant force, which can inadvertently shift the precise positioning of the unlocked ball heads just before they grip.Final Verdict:The NEEWER Magic Arm delivers on its promise of superior build quality and exceptional flexibility. It is tough and dependable. However, the fundamental design flaw of the non-independent locking mechanism is a significant drawback. If your workflow requires frequent, minute adjustments to a single axis, this arm’s locking system will challenge your patience. It’s a great choice for positions you plan to set and forget, but for demanding, dynamic adjustments, be prepared for some frustration.

Better than expected. All-metal construction – sturdy and precise.
I bought two of these to mic up my piano in stereo. The ‘Zon can be hit or miss, but these little clamp arms are weighty and really solid.The machining feels precise and the joints all tighten up well simply by tightening the single knob at middle. They are certainly sturdy enough to hold my little mics.Once you get them positioned, they do stay pretty well-put. There will be a little fussing due to the rubber pads on each end of the mounts, but it’s still easy enough to get things dialed in.

Bought this for a 13 in iPad to use with a holder for use onto a hand grip in a campervan. Works well for my application to hold the ipad in front of me for watching movies, or YouTube while sitting in the cab. Great quality.

I honestly use this for every shoot that I do in my studio, I have 2/3 on the go everytime.The ease of clamping it to a table or stand, and then positioning a small light/ camera monitor/ bounce or negative, the options are endless.If you don’t own at least 1 of these, then quit playing and order it asap 👌🏻
