It’s so tiny! Absolutely adorable
I was expecting, you know, a regular size external hard drive. But this one is about the size of two thumb drives side-by-side! It’s so tiny and cute!On a serious note, it runs as expected. I was hoping to put decals on it as part of the gift but it was two small. I even measured with a Seagate drive we have. But I was slightly disappointed that it was so tiny. I was only able to fit two decals. One on each side. Honestly the size is probably better anyway. Takes up less space while in-use, and it makes it easier to store. I wish there was an option to have the full size, but I can overlook that.

Amazing hdd
This hard drive is amazing. The usb c to usb c feature is also very cool. It allows for much faster transfers and is super convenient. Runs almost silently. Has a small form factor. Functions as advertised.

WORKS FLAWLESSLY ON WINDOWS 11 PC
I read all the reviews and ordered it because Seagate drives have been very reliable for me in the past. I was leery because a lot of the reviews said it was difficult to set up and that there were no instructions. I connected it to my USB port, and up popped the file names that were installed on the unit, and I chose the file for Windows, launched it and a screen came up telling me that I could choose to drag and drop my files to the unit or do a scheduled backup. I dragged my files over and they copied to the backup perfectly with no issues. I viewed them once backed up and they were all there. Easy peasy. Definitely recommend!

Solid State Speed
I am using this with a Mac and I have read reviews that criticize speed which has not been my experience. I admit I am not using this the way some users are (video, audio, etc.) I did transfer 23 gigs worth of pictures onto this and it took five minutes which I was impressed with. I am using this primarily for word docs and the like so admittedly there is some disparity in the way I’m using it compared to others. The only issue I have is the way the cord is. Slightly too short to do a lot with but functionality-wise I have no complaints and the capacity is great for an SSD at the price point I got it at.

Compact and works perfectly
I had a WD back up HD for my iMac that was used for my automatic time machine back ups. It crapped out after 3 years. Found this product here on Amazon. Price point was cheaper than expected. It arrived same day as ordered, and it really was plug and play. Simple change of time machine setting to the new drive, and I’m back having back ups again. Only one cord to the iMac, no additional power cord. Great price for exactly what I needed.

Two months after the warranty expired, this s***box of a drive couldn’t find any valid volumes for the umpteenth time in its short one year life. Even after reformatting it 2 or more times including NTFS for windows machine, it still randomly picks a day when it will stop being able to read the password protected volume. I am fortunate that I never trusted this drive and kept a backup copy otherwise all would have been lost each time. Buy this product at your own risk and while you are at it buy two so you have a backup copy when either one of them fails. Mine is going out with the trash tomorrow and will not EVER buy Seagate again. Who needs this headache? Thank goodness I timed out for a replacement.

Works as storage, backup, or a mirror drive
The documentation isn’t great but it only took an hour to figure out how to get it to work. Transferring 490 GB took many hours (USB is extremely slow) but both mirror and backup seem to work well.My biggest problem was setting up the disk’s password. I set it up w/o proper documentation and, now that it’s set up, I can’t figure out how to turn it off. Should my computer fail that could leave me locked out of my backup, if I understand how this unit works. Again… sucky explanations.

Unfortunately, after copying some footage, one of the two hard drives I purchased stopped working. At first, it showed errors and began turning off unexpectedly during the copying process. Now it doesn’t work at all.I would love to return it for a refund or replacement, but I’m unable to do so because it contains client footage that I can’t share or risk exposing.I was aware of the risks from some of the one-star reviews, but unfortunately, I haven’t been lucky and ended up having a bad experience myself. I really wish quality control were more reliable to avoid failures like this.The product concept and the idea of recycling materials are great in theory. Sadly, I can’t support it based on my experience and will have to stick with a different brand I’ve trusted for years.
