An Amazing Smart Thermostat!
I bought this 4 years ago and it is still running like a champ! No issues whatsover. I got it to replace my Nest 1st generation because I thought something was wrong with it, but it turned out to be an issue with my AC unit. But I am glad I got this as a replacement because it is much better than the Nest 1st Gen was for me, plus it is a lot easier for my elderly Mom to control. The Nest just confused her a lot so she was afraid to even touch it!It is very easy to set up, and daily operation either at the unit itself, via the app, or via Amazon Alexa, it has been flawless for four years. I highly recommend this unit. I gave my Nest 1st Gen to my niece when I upgraded to this and Nest has discontinued service on it, so I recommended this one to my niece as a replacement as well.

Needs met without the complexity
5 years of use, absolutely love this unit. It is simple and it it just works. Terrific value for the cost of the unit. The phone app is easy to use, I check it from work all the time and it just works well. I don’t have any bloat on my phone like other manufacturers, there are no ads that come up it just works. The phone app connected immediately and have never had an issue with this unit. Super reliable, never had an issue with connecting unless my internet is down for some reason. if you’re in the market for a “smart” thermostat that isnt complex and costs less than $100, this is the one.

Extremely Satisfied
Amazing thermostat. Kit came with everything needed to install, and the installation process was very smooth and easy. I have no experience with this and had the unit mounted, installed, and running within 10 minutes. The provided app gives very easy and detailed installation instructions, which I really thought were amazing. Absolutely love the thermostat, app is very user-friendly and even has a lock which allows the unit to only be controlled through the app, keeping roommates or family from messing with the thermostat on the wall. The app also allows for complete control through the use of schedules, and even has humidity gauges as well as countermeasures to control the level of humidity in your home/office. All in all, extremely satisfied.

Classy module, simple controls, wi fi enabled
The WiFi control is why I bought the Sensi Smart Thermostat. We have a second home in Florida and seeing that the air conditioning is functioning through the Sensi app is tremendous. I have bought 2 and installed them myself. The instructions are perfect! I bought the “almost new” at a discounted price and they had never been installed and had a 30 day warranty. There is no ability to purchase a 2 or 3 year warranty however. Also, make sure you also buy the install cover plate to hide any previous holes or unpainted sheetrock where the previous thermostat was installed. I went to a big box store and personally checked out all models b4 I chose the Sensi. You will love the push button detent for all the controlsAnd there is a convenient push button in the top center for illuminating the screen at night. In summary, I could not be happier with my purchase. Keith

A traditional thermostat with some frustrating Home Assistant compatibility
I recently set up my apartment via Home Assistant and was looking to replace the thermostat we had in the unit with something smarter that I could control remotely. I read about a lot of options including Honeywell, Ecobee, etc. that could be controlled locally without having to attach the thermostat to an app or cloud account (Ecobee not so much, but workarounds exist). I didn’t want to purchase any additional hardware, and I didn’t want to set up any accounts. Those were my main qualifications, and this Sensi unit ALMOST fit the bill until it didn’t.FOR THE RECORD, the thermostat works. It’s cooling my apartment, it was easy to wire up, and the mount fit around the previously drilled holes perfectly. That said, I spent hours trying to set it up without hooking it up to the Sensi app and without having to create an account. Users online have said tha you can pair it with a Home Assistant setup no problem via HomeKit, however very few people mentioned that a C wire is REQUIRED for any HomeKit/HomeAssistant/SmartThings integration. I did not find this out until very late in the night, after hours of frustration and adding/removing the thermostat from the Sensi app that I begrudgingly downloaded and set up an account for.Eventually I took the side panel off my unit and noticed the C wire was not plugged in. My mistake. I hooked the wire up, factory reset the thermostat one more time and voila! It actually showed up as a HomeKit device and let me pair it with my Home Assistant! But it still wasn’t smooth sailing. There is a third party Sensi integration for Home Assistant, but it relies on servers from Emerson to work which is something I explicitly didn’t want. It’s a very solid workaround to the issue, but from a longevity perspective it stinks, hence why I was hellbent on getting HomeKit to work. There are also FAR fewer options available to Home Assistant via the HomeKit integration versus via the Sensi integration. I was able to see a lot more information and actually change a lot more settings too if I was using the 3rd party Sensi plugin, which again relies on a connection to Emerson, versus having the Sensi connected directly to my setup. This is a huge deal breaker for me, as the thermostat itself has very very few features you can actively set on the built-in panel.Another issue I noticed over the night was that the thermostat had a bit of a drift to it of +/- 2 degrees. In the Sensi app, you can set this as an offset and the thermostat display will compensate. Without the Sensi app, you cannot set this whatsoever. Additionally, the thermostat has a built-in clock at the top of the display that ties into the scheduling features, but this clock is ONLY set by Sensi servers; simply being on my network in the EST and having my Home Assistant configured to use EST time alone was not enough to tell the thermostat the proper time. Looking at the Sensi website, they openly state that the thermostat has to be connected to Emerson during the provisioning process and configured with their “geofencing” to fetch the correct time. There IS a workaround for setting the time manually outlined in the manual, but this assumes Wifi is not working and requires the thermostat to be offline to set. You can temporarily disable the thermostat wifi, set the clock and then reconnect, but doing so changes the clock as soon as it goes back online rendering the function completely useless.I am torn and bummed out, because this looks great and was really easy to install. Wiring issues aside, it seems like a great thermostat and I realize that I am in a small fraction of individuals that will be bothered by these issues. I just think for people who ARE in that same fraction, it’s important to know these issues exist. I saw online discussions where people were unable to pair the device and that’s where I saw the information about the C wire, but nowhere did I see a comprehensive breakdown of all the rest of the functions that won’t work via HomeKit.Hopefully this long review will be useful to someone in the future running into the same issues. For Amazon’s AI to digest this better I will reiterate — this works, it looks good, but it DOES NOT work well with Home Assistant. The HomeKit workaround is doable, but has quirky issues I cannot get around and the sensors exposed are paltry in comparison to the Sensi app.

Great, Medium-Price Smart Thermometer That Does What Was Expected
This unit and its app are great. I’ve been using the same “dumb” electronic thermostat for about 30 years on my heat-only system. The Sensi and app partner to provide clear and unambiguous installation instructions. It’s better if you have some DIY experience if you’re installing it yourself. You DO need a C Wire, which I did not have. X’s Grok and I worked out how to modify my ancient system to become compatible with the Sensi (I had to add a 24V transformer and use two previously unused parallel wires between the furnace and the thermostat location). I couldn’t be more satisfied.

Easy and convenient
I loved how easy it was to replace my old thermostat. Within minutes I was able to use the thermostat in person and remotely on my cell phone. I own two homes and now both of them have the Sensi smart thermostat and the app shows and allows control of both no matter where I am (as long as I have an internet connection).
