Great smart lock at a good price, notifications drop periodically.
My family is terrible at locking doors, so these auto-locking is a great functionality. They are super easy to install and shouldn’t require modifications to the door or frame in most cases. Older houses will probably require more modifications than anything built in the last 40-ish years. Battery life is pretty good, being able to set PINs for different people and the app tell you who unlocked it is great.My one complaint is that these door locks stop sending notifications through the tapo app periodically. They still operate completely normally, all features still work, but notifications will not come through. A quick pop out and reinsert of the batteries is all it takes to fix the issue, but it is still kind of annoying when you realize that the door locks have stopped telling you if the door didn’t close all the way and the latch is jammed (which is also a really great feature).

Easy install works perfectly
The install was super easy including connecting with our WiFi. This devices installs and works with the TAPO app which we use with all our TP-Link devices. Alexa recognized we had connected the device to our WiFi and automatically connected with the lock. You just need to tell Alexa what the code is to verbally unlock the door. We love that if we are in bed we can ask Alexa if the front door is locked and if unlocked can lock it without getting out of bed. The lock dead bolt mechanism is super smooth without binding. Our previous smart lock would completely bind-up rendering it useless. The outside number pad is super easy to use and makes entry easy if your smart phone isn’t handy. All-in-all and excellent lock.

Great lock!
This lock works GREAT. The app is easy to use and so handy. You can control the lock with your phone and you can change the code with your phone. You get alerts when the lock is locked or unlocked, either by code or manually. I bought 2 for my Airbnbs and I just love them. The previous locks had white buttons that got dirty and I couldn’t clean them which was what initially drew me to these since they are black but I am so glad I got these.

As much as the installation kit came with an alighnment guide, it was still quite challenging to line it up straight when you get to the point of screwing the front with the back pieces. You can screw them together easily but they may still not look straight which becomes obvious because it is a rectangular pad. But once installed, it works like a charm!

Extremely happy with the lock. I’ve been using it for several weeks before posting this review. Out of the box I could tell right away the quality and because the exterior case is metal, the durability of the lock. It was an easy installation to replace existing deadbolt (no additional cutting or sizing), simple setup and configure using my Android phone and the TAPO app. I have been using TP-Link and Kasa products for several years including Wi-Fi switches, plugs and LED bulbs. My Router is TP-Link (but also previously used Linksys). All the products are very easy to set up and connect to the Wi-Fi via phone app and to continue to use. Connects FLAWLESSLY to my Alexa and Google Mini assistant with voice command (“Alexa, unlock front door” or “Hey Google….”) with SECURE verbal pass code authorization. I get active notifications whenever the lock is accessed AND including when an incorrect pass code was attempted (tested several times for security peace of mind) for entry. A big plus with functionality, because every family member or roommate has individual pass code and can be quickly revoked at anytime by the registered account holder. Has nighttime keypad light touch activation. I love the auto-lock after a preset time incase you forget to manually lock it and using the unlock/lock feature in the app from anywhere. For your security, you even get popup notification if the door is slightly ajar and the lock can’t fully extend. I am sure this lock would be a definite benefit for shut-ins and those in a wheelchair who get regular visitors, home care or in-home deliveries. Especially with limited day and time preset pass code access and one-time pass code. And YOU set it up for when it is available to be used. I am definitely satisfied.Security note: not anyone can activate verbal “unlock” with Alexa or Google. Verbal unlock command is ONLY usable with password authentication.

Easy install & setup. Sends push messages when lock is opened and closed. Battery life is good, not excellent. I would buy this one again. When they put a camera in it facing out, it will be KILLER!

Tapo Smart Deadbolt Door Lock
I ordered 2 of the Tapo DL Smart Wi-Fi Deadbolt Door Locks to replace my regular dead bolt locks.. The locks are great quality, heavy duty and work well. They were easy to install. It is very easy to program codes. They work perfectly with the app. You can program them to automatically lock after a certain amount of time. I like the feature that allows you to use a power bank if the batteries fail. They come with 2 keys and everything to install them, except for a screwdriver. They look good installed. They are a good value. I am glad I bought them. I do recommend them.

Easy set up, love the user interface for setup. The door lock opens quickly after you put in your code. WiFi connection seems good so far. I’m unsure on battery life as we’ve only had the lock for about a month but it is at 93% and this is our main door that we use daily.

Installation facile et fonctionne très bien, l’unité extérieure semble solide et s’intègre bien avec une bonne finition estéthique. Par contre l’unité intérieure est un peu moins esthétique du fait de sa grosseur due au boitier de logement de piles AA plutôt qu’une batterie, il semble aussi moins robuste. Pour un prix abordable c’est un système efficace et de bonne qualité quand même. Pour le fonctionnement pas besoin de concentrateur, juste l’application Tapo avec laquelle on peut effectuer plusieurs paramètrages intérressants suivant les besoins.
