Z-Wave Works Contrary to Other Reviews
Installation of this lock is a breeze. It took longer for me to create an account, connect with Bluetooth and make the z-wave connection than it did to physically install this lock. The lock is solid and feels as sturdy as the standard manual Schlage deadbolt that I removed. Setting things up in the app was painless for me and adding fingerprints was also very easy. I will say that the fingerprint reader works well for me, but for my kids (< 6 years old), the reader is not reliable. I’m not sure why this is other than maybe their small fingerprints don’t register on the device. Not a big deal for me because I don’t anticipate my small children ever needing to unlock the deadbolt except in the event of an emergency. On to the z-wave functionality. First and foremost, if you don’t know what z-wave is, please don’t bash this product like others have and give it 1 star because it doesn’t come with a z-wave hub. I read a review complaining about this and that person has a fundamental misunderstanding of what z-wave is. This lock DOES work with z-wave, but it did not connect to my z-wave stick with “s2” security. I had to use “s0” security to connect the lock to Home Assistant. I think this is why some are complaining that the z-wave functionality isn’t working for them. Contrary to Mr. IT’s review (who claims he’s “no amateur”), the z-wave does in fact work if you connect it correctly to you z-wave hub or stick. For those that aren’t able to connect to z-wave, you are either trying to connect via s2 or are connecting as an unsecure device. I could possibly deduct a star for the manufacturer not explaining this, but the rest of the lock features are too good to dock a star. Mr. IT is an amateur when it comes to home automation so disregard his review. While I don’t anticipate using the app other than setting up users, it’s actually pretty good. The initial setup process for the lock was painless and adding new users with fingerprints was a very straight forward process. Kudos to the developers for making the app pleasant to work with. The fingerprint sensor works great for me and my wife, but not so well for my kids. Again, I don’t care so much about that because I don’t anticipate my kids needing to use it ever, but something that’s worth noting.Overall, I’m very pleased with this product and if you’re looking to use z-wave, just make sure that you add the device correctly and don’t listen to Mr. IT, who is not a home automation expert.

    Love it!
If you have an ounce of technical know how, you can set this up.1) We had it installed on our door in 5 minutes. AFTER repainting the door lol. The door lock is smaller than traditional locks. So heads up if you’ve painted your door that you may have to redo that. No big deal, the paint had faded and now I have a freshly painted door and new black lock! 🎉2) We have a Vivint alarm system. I couldn’t find too many reviews that also have Vivint and had set this up. I was replacing a Vivint Shlage lock that had worn out and stopped working. Set up was easy. I paired it via my Vivint hub with the help of a tech in the Vivint app. Super easy! It literally took 10 minutes to remove the old door lock and add the new one. (This was the part I was worried about!) But seriously, no sweat.3) The lock itself is so easy to use my ADHD ridden 10 year old figured it out lol. (I say that with all the love in the world.) I had him watch all of us set up our fingerprints so that when it was his turn, he knew how to do it. Again, super easy! 👏🏻 The noise level of the lock is a tad louder than we are used to. It scared my cats at first lol. But it’s nothing we haven’t already adjusted to after 5 hours of installation and playing with it. It has this weird motorized sound. Again, we’ve adjusted already. It was just different than our previous lock. Functionality of the lock is INCREDIBLE! It’s such a smart lock! I love the fingerprint. I love that it auto locks after X amount of time. I love that it will autolock/auto unlock when I leave/arrive home. I can even shake my phone to unlock it!4) The app is so easy to use! It has features in it that I won’t ever use. It’s a smart home app probably meant to link a few of their other smart home devices in as well? I love that I can share the app with my pet sitter when we go out of town. She had her own code in the Vivint app but now in addition to her own code, I can just share the app and she has a backup method to get in!Is this what being an adult is? Getting excited not to have to touch my lock anymore? 😆 Either way, it’s very nice.

This is my third smart lock and this one ranks at the top of the list. Build quality, ease of installation and functions. I gave the finger print reader 4 out 5 as the one that was first installed didn’t function. Their support is amazing and they replaced the hardware immediately so it functions properly now. Other companies could take a page out of ULTRLOQ’s post sales support, it’s nothing short of amazing. My only mistake was purchasing the Z-Wave version. I should have done my research. Z-Wave (and zigbee) locks are not supported by Apple HomeKit, even with a Hubitat bridge – my mistake. I’ll upgrade to the next version of the lock supporting HomeKit (do you hear me u-tec?).

I have been looking for a reasonably priced Z-Wave lock for my house. The fact that this one is Z-Wave and finger print plus keypad plus Wi-Fi (with Bluetooth to Wi-Fi hub that’s included). It was painless to setup as my door is already setup for this exact size of deadbolt lock. The instructions were super clear and easy to follow but if you have ever installed a door knob you can install this with no issues. The only issue that I do have with it is that there seems to be no seal around the outside lock. Normally you get a rubber gasket with most deadbolts. There is nothing the rain can get to on the outside but now I am worried rain will get in and rot my door over time. I will be sealing it with silicone on the sides an top (leave bottom open to allow any water that does get in to get out). There is nothing in the instructions about this but I will be doing it! The keys are really funny shaped and not sure why but makes it harder to turn them. The turn on the inside of the house I wish was a bit longer so that when you grab it with your fingers it just feels a bit better in the hand. Also the knob is black and the casing is black so it makes it really hard to look at your door before you go to bed to see what position the lock is in would be nice is there was a white stripe on it so you can tell. The back case that goes over the batteries should really click on to make a positive attachment to the back . It slides down but it feels like there is nothing holding it in place if a kid came and decided to play with it. If you want to use the app to unlock it using proximity its a nice feature but it really does not work as it requires the app to be open and if you close it it will only work for the next 5 minutes. Maybe that is a safety feature that its not always on but really makes it useless.I really like that you can use this without an app and you can setup finger prints and codes but seems like you cannot initiate a z-wave paring without the app. I could not find instructions anyways to do this. I really like this lock to be honest and all the things I said were wrong with it are so minor they are not issues at all and would never prevent me from recommending this to someone. I have also exposed my Home Assistant to Google Home and I can control the door lock with my voice.

This product comes with 2 door entry keys which can be used as a last resort in the event a code entered or fingerprint recognition does not work. I needed 4 extra keys (family member, gardener, cleaners and a spare). One Locksmith said in his opinion the key was unusual but if I gave him 4 blanks with the correct length for the key he could cut them for me. I told this company what I had been told and requested either 4 keys or 4 blanks which I was happy to pay for. Customer Services sent a detailed picture of the mechanical lock and the make of key required. I gave this information to the Locksmith who produced/cut 4 spare keys for me. Great customer services from this company.

I’ve 2 lock From Ultraloq or U-Tec, the 1st one is the U-Bolt with bridge (No fingerprint reader)I do not have any issue with. Robust and Good product. The only DownSide is there is no Home Assistant integration. The Second Lock I Got is the Pro Serie Wifi with fingerPrint reader. Nice product but had in compatibility with my router AP Setup ( Ubiquiti)Support Team help me a lot and find rapidly a replacement solution .PRO :Robust and Good Product overallGreat Support Teams, responsiveNumerous ways to lock and unlockIncludes fingerprint readerWork in bluetooth and WifiCon :Not Apple HomeKit CompatibleNo Home Assistant Integration (Minus Z-wave version)Lock with integrated WIFI (no bridged) can be unrealiable under certain circonstable like Ap/Router Model.Recommandation : If you can choose, Buy any lock this a BRIDGE, Wifi version can consume battery rapidly and you can expect incompatibility with some AP (Ubiquiti).
