Works Great…
This is a neat little gadget. When you have two computers in the house and need to switch between the one you need for being online, this is the answer. I have had no signal or connection problem. Works great.

It also works with RJ-11 phone cables
Works perfect as a switch to connect/disconnect a phone line for my printers RJ-11 fax port as well as the RJ-45 network cables it was designed for. Add a P+Touch label and there’s no more fooling with cables or crawling on the floor to connect/disconnect the line. Texts and Email just aren’t secure. If you have a landline, Fax is still the most secure way to deliver documents. My printer is configured for fax, so all I need do to receive a fax now is flip the switch. It also makes telemarketers crazy when I see their calls on my phone’s display and switch on the fax machine to answer their calls.

I’m Not Doing Pay-Per-Month!
I paid for a very expensive software program and when I upgraded to Windows 11 the program said it would no longer work on Windows 11. What a ripoff! If it works on 10 then it should also work on 11. This was just the company moving to a pay-per-month model and trying to squeeze more money out of it’s licensed users. I solved the problem by disconnecting the internet before I start the program. This was the neatest desktop solution I could find.

It does the job I needed.
I have a personal and work computer that are hard wired to my modem/router. This allows me to have both computers hooked up. Since I only use work or home at any time, this simple switch means I don’t have to keep disconnecting and reconnecting the cable to the computer I need at the time. The switch feels a little stiff and the cables didn’t insert as easily as I hoped but since this is a one and done deal, I won’t be constantly connecting and disconnecting so I won’t worry about it. The A/B switch is a bit stiff, but at least you know which computer you are connected to when you move it. It would have been 5 star if the connectors and the switch on this device felt better.

So much better than expected…
I needed a way to switch my notebook computer’s ethernet connection between two different routers in my home office network setup. I was only experimenting, so I checked Amazon for an AB ethernet switch that was budget priced. This was one of the lowest priced switches I could find. I figured if the experiment didn’t pan out, I could just throw it away. Well, I’m keeping it. This little budget switch worked flawlessly and I’m leaving it connected in my network. The switch doesn’t require any external power, it has a small footprint and bottom line, it just works. This turned out to be a great deal.

Ethernet Disconnect Switch
I setup this device so I could disconnect my Ethernet connection to my PC. I left the “B” connection open. We have had several really bad lightning storms in the last few years that took out several Ethernet devices on my network. I believe this was caused by lightning induced overvoltage on the Ethernet cables in the house.I considered using some Ethernet surge protector devices, but decided there is no better surge protection than an “air gap” once switched to the open port. But I do have to manually switch it so it will disconnect the Ethernet to the PC to prevent any damage to the PC Ethernet port.FYI, I tested the switch using a Ethernet cable analyzer and it disconnects all 4 of the Ethernet conductors completely when switched. After connecting it up to my PC there was no change in the network speed after running the network Speedtest.

Had it for about 3 weeks and it stopped working. If I bypass the switch everything works if I use the switch the screen is black. Can’t return item as I threw away the box……..my bad!UPDATE…..as previously mentioned I threw away the box so I couldn’t return it. I was contacted by the vendor who quickly sent me a replacement unit. I’ve had it for over a month now with no issues. I’m very please with the customer service from this vendor and now give it 5 stars!
