1+ years review and No-Fail Pairing Instructions
We’ve been using one of these on our back swinging door for over a year. The door sees a lot of foot traffic. I actually have it set up along the back edge of where the door opens (hinge side) so it won’t get knocked off the door amidst the numerous opening/closing it goes through. I’m the year, we have changed batteries twice. I the second go-round I used rechargeable AAAs. This time I’m using Energizer Ultimate Lithium AAAs to see how long they last.I also installed one inside of our mailbox and set up a Smart (routine) to turn our LED lights on the back of our TV to pink once the mail box is opened/closed by the carrier, so we have no more failed mail checks. It works flawlessly. See photos for reference. How to pair with your Wi-Fi:Download the Smart Life app and press the + in the upper right corner to add the sensor. Select Wi-Fi on your phone and join your 2.4ghz band. If you don’t do this, you won’t be able to connect. After adding batteries to the sensor, press and hold the RESET button on the end of unit using something little and sharp such as a skewer or needle. If you don’t do this, it won’t connect. The red light will start flashing, first kind of slowly, and then the flashing speeds up. The app should pick up the sensor. Follow the prompts and let it do its thing. If for some reason the Smart Life app doesn’t see your new sensor, double check that your phone is connected on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, reset the unit again as above, and manually add it by pressing +, selecting the ‘Sensors’ category on the left, and choose the “Contact Sensor (Wi-Fi)” from the list, and follow the prompts. Be sure to edit the sensor name to something specific to meet your needs and so it is unique from other sensors (“Cookie Cabinet”). Now you’re good to go. Play with the Smart feature of the app to set up routines to interact with other devices using this app.

    Not Disappointed
I recently purchased this WiFi door sensor to help keep my crawling baby safe, and I’m very happy with the results. Installation was a breeze thanks to the included double-sided tape. I simply peeled and stuck it to my basement door frame and the sensor itself to the door.Setting it up with the Smart Life app was equally straightforward. What’s even better is that I was able to configure the sensor to send alerts only after the door has been open for more than 30 seconds. This prevents constant, unnecessary notifications from brief door openings, like when I’m quickly grabbing something. Now, I receive an instant alert whenever the basement door is left open for an extended period. This is a huge relief, as it prevents my little one from potentially crawling down the stairs. The sensor is responsive and the notifications are timely. For such an affordable price, this sensor provides excellent peace of mind. The ability to set a delay is a fantastic feature. Beyond baby safety, I’m also planning to tie this sensor into my wireless thermostat. This will allow me to automatically turn off the fan/AC when the front door is open during the summer, saving energy.

    They work
These work fine. My only complaint is that the app could be better. It would be nice to be able to set up different notification sounds for each sensor. As it is now only one sound can be selected, and it will be the same for all of the sensors.

    Non Functional after 2 days
DO NOT PURCHASE!!! First, let me say I am very technically capable and my house is almost fully automated. Product installation is very easy and looks clean. The issue is after a day or 2 it goes offline and cannot be reconnected. Followed every instruction and FAQ advice with no solution working. I looked in the comments and see this issue is very common and will advise everyone to DO NOT BUY!!!Returning item for a refund.

    Great replacement for Nest sensors
I replaced my soon to be useless Nest sensors. These are easily installed, easy to setup in the smartlife app, and notify me when the doors open and close and I can set smart rules for actions. Way better than Nest sensors.

Terrible app support. Works with SmartThings
The sensors work correctly, but the user experience will either be OK or unacceptable depending on your ecosystem.1. Native apps (Tuya and Smart Life) – very basic. The default notifications have poor grammar. The apps use an incredibly annoying audible alert when the sensor opens/closes.2. Google Home integration – absolute failure here. The sensor can be added to your Google Home ecosystem, but the state shows up as “charging” or “not charging”, not “open” or “close”. I was unable to get any smart routines to work with this device.3. SmartThings integration – shockingly good! I was able to setup routines based on the sensor state (open or close). I was able to setup a simple alert if the sensor was “open” for longer than an hour.

Using in the freezer, refrigerator and outdoors
I wasn’t sure that the wi-fi would work from the refrigerator and freezer, but they did. I must mention that I have a wi-fi mesh satellite within 6 ft or the refrigerator, so I can’t guarantee that they will work for everyone from within a refrigerator. I had lost a lot of food due to our cheap 2nd refrigerator getting hot because the door was not shut all the way and it doesn’t have magnets to pull the door to. Now I get a notification on my phone if the temp is above 42°. I can also ask Alexa what it the refrigerator temperature or what is the patio temperature. I haven’t measured these against another thermometer so I don’t know how accurate they are. I can tell you that I have been alerted that the refrigerator temp was over 42° and the door was slightly open. So it paid for itself already.

Not that simple. To get it downloaded the WiFi setup did not work. Do not recommend
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Thought it would be simple enough to install
