Aqara Sensors
4MP HD & True Color Night Vision- The security Camera Hub G5 Pro offers a 4MP Resolution with a 133° FOV and supports True Color Night Vision with a 1/1.8″ sensor and f/1.0 large aperture, identifying intruders even in low-light. A Built-in 3000K DIMMABLE Spotlight functions as an intruder deterrent and improves visibility during nighttime. Note: This surveillance camera is not equipped with infrared light. No Battery.
Local AI Visual & Abnormal Sound Detection- Thanks to the powerful built-in Neural Processing Unit (NPU), outdoor Camera Hub G5 Pro supports 7 types of visual detection and 4 types of abnormal sound detection. For visual detection, G5 Pro can recognize faces, individual vehicles, animals, people, and can distinguish if they are lingering. It also supports Lens Obstruction Detection and Package Detection. For abnormal sound detection, this camera for home security can detect babies crying, alarm sounds, barking and coughing. This feature enables you to record key events and trigger automations even during an internet outage.
Hub & Matter Bridge- Home Camera G5 Pro acts as a hub with both Aqara Zigbee (Not third-party Zigbee devices) and Thread dual protocols, it can connect up to 80 Aqara Zigbee Sub-devices or 40 thread sub-devices, or 20 Aqara Zigbee Sub-devices and 20 Thread sub-devices. This home security camera integrates third-party matter devices into the Aqara Home app and exposes existing Aqara devices to Matter-compatible platforms like Apple Home, Alexa, and Google Home. *Compatibility depends on device type, ecosystem support, and the presence of a Matter Controller.
HomeKit Secure Video & Multiple Storage Methods- The outdoor security camera G5 Pro supports HomeKit Secure Video (an active iCloud subscription and an Apple Home hub is required), features a built-in encrypted 8GB eMMC storage and supports Aqara Cloud, and RTSP with full End-to-End encryption for protection, G5 data is accessible by only you or your family. Note: 24/7 record is only supported with RTSP and store in your Local devices
Easy PoE Installation- Thanks to the power over Ethernet (PoE) technology, this PoE camera can transmit videos and reveive power via only a single network cable. Note: PoE Switch required and separately purchased. Also, the poe security camera G5 Pro includes a 5V2A USB-C port for non-PoE enabled setups. Zigbee2MQTT and comparable third-party USB dongles are not officially supported by Aqara. Full product functionality may be limited or unavailable.

Best Outdoor HomeKit Camera out there! Easy Buy!
GREAT Cameras. The POE cameras connect to Apple HomeKit flawlessly. I have the Apple’s “AppleOne” subscription so keeping all of the camera footage online available to all of my devices works great.Setup is a breeze in the Aqara app for the firmware updates too. Installation is super easy too. You can mount them right side up or upside down. I would like for it to be possible to mount them on a 90° for easier installations though. Aqara’s other cameras are cable of doing this and adjusting the screen to fit the angle. But a little ingenuity and all is well with the installation. It has rained multiple times and the cameras never took a wet-nap.I loved the first one so much, I now have SIX of these cameras around the house, will eventually get a 7th.There are many and mean MANY motion-detection options in the Aqara app and the ones you normally find in HomeKit. Vehicle detection is a little touchy, but im looking more for person detection and these cameras do great. We all know that HomeKit only show 1080p although these cameras are capable of more but zooming in on any of the feeds works great, especially because they are POE and there is ZERO lag. Previous WiFi cameras were always dropping out and lagging.I suggest EVERYONE that uses Siri and HomeKit as their main SmartHome handler to get these cameras and no other camera out there! You can’t beat this product.

Amazing camera for Apple HomeKit ecosystem!
I first bought a Eve outdoor camera first. It constantly keep disconnecting. I had nothing but trouble with it. Sent it back within a week or two. I have a Apple’s HomeKit house, so i didn’t have many choices when it comes to outdoor cameras. The next purchase was the G5 pro POE version. I’m really glad I did. It hook up super easy and has been working flawlessly for three months now. Low light video quality is amazing, almost scary. I’m about to purchase my 5 today. If you’re in the Apple HomeKit ecosystem you won’t be disappointed.

Almost perfect
Works great out of the box, really simple setup. The only thing that kept me from giving it five stars is that the base doesn’t allow enough flexibility in aiming the camera left and right. You can adjust the camera up and down, and swivel the camera on the base, but when the camera is mounted to the side of a house as mine is, there is no way to keep the camera level and aim it left or right as much as is needed. There is a simple fix, which is to put a shim under the base, but the mount should be redesigned.Having the camera powered by PoE has eliminated the dropouts that we experienced with our two previous cameras. Having Apple HomeKit built in also is really excellent, and it worked immediately.

Great Homekit Camera
I really like this camera. I wanted a POE camera that was homekit compatible and this is it. It just works and I have been very happy with it. Motion detection might be too good, picture quality seems to be excellent and I really like the night vision on it (It looks a lot like day). I think the value of this is great, I picked it up on a sale and would definitely get another one.

Feature Rich Hardware and Turns Darkness into Day (w/ RTSP and ONVIF)
Update late-April: ONVIF Support — now it can be used with a Hikvision NVR, Ubiquiti’s NVR, etc. and I cannot say enough about the low light performance! New image added for comparison: no adjustments or enhancements but heavily cropped for privacy. The dark image is an iPhone 15 with the Wide lens.April 2025 – Second Update: I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and love it more than ever. … For reference, I’m using Reolink, Hikivision, and Ubiquiti hardware — no real complaints with those but the low/no light performance of the Aqara seems like science fiction. The cherry on top is using the camera as an additional hub for my outdoor sensors.Original:TLDR: No Home Assistant yet; native HomeKit video is great. Aqara app is lackluster for such a feature rich device. Also, larger than expected — like a large coffee mugNote (for certain people who will really care): It supports RTSP and allows you to pick the resolution up to 1520p (360p, 720p, and 1080p also available)Compared: I have more Unifi and other IP/POE cameras than anyone would need (enthusiasts/nerd) and this one tops them all, all things considered. The “night vision” outperforms cameras costing 5x and the analytics (on paper) are far superior than most Unifi (for those without the supplemental AI hardware). Also, I’m a former Nest users so my opinion comes from a disdain of wifi/non-local cameras.I also have multiple Aqara hubs for different applications and different portions of my property. Previously, I had to do some DIY work to get hubs where I needed (exterior). The camera now serves as a hub for that purpose as well.Software: I’ve used (still do) Scrypted (software to turn IP cameras into HomeKit cameras) but it required a fair amount of maintenance and hardware. Likely my fault but still. The intergration with HomeKit is a top selling point for me as an Apple TV user — notification pop up on the screen with virtually zero lag/delay because of the hardwire connection.Aqara App: While not the worse, it is far from perfect. I’ve only had the camera 24 hours but the nested menus make it difficult to navigate the one device. Adding faces for ID is done on a nested menu instead of the timeline for some reason. It needs work but I would prefer attention be directed to…Home Assistant: This is where the ball was dropped. The Aqara app is good for setup but then I’d like to move on. Aqara is aware of this use case because it has announced it will be working with Home Assistant more closely. I may have missed it but, as of 24 hours in, I haven’t figured out where the sensors or analytics are integrated into Home Assistant. The camera is added via Matter but just allows me to “Identify” the camera. I’m sure someone smarter than me will make an integration eventually but, as of now, I’m a bit disappointed. Looking forward to official and community updates to unlock the full features of the hardware.First Update: I am even more impressed by the night/dark video performance so I added a picture. I’m also happy to see Aqara support cares enough to request/provide additional information to improve the experience.

Incredible camera!
Incredible camera. The night vision works unbelievably well in low light. I love the integration in home with apple, and being able to view the camera in the home app as well as on our Apple TV. The hub feature is also nice to extend the network for other zigbee or thread devices. You can’t beat the hardwired POE option for reliability. I will be purchasing other products and possibly another camera for more coverage. Around our home. Also nice to see a company stand behind their products.

Absolute Kaufempfehlung!

The image quality is out of his world. The night vision in color is amazing and works well with just a bit of ambient light. I am using the PoE version with a regular gigabit Ethernet + an external 2A USB power supply plugged in and oh boy, this is the fastest camera I have ever own. Gone are the WiFi lost connection problems, slowdowns and lags. And the cherry on top, it works extraordinary well as a HomeKit Secure Video camera. The only problem with this camera is that it can only record events, there is no way to record 24/7.

This is the third unit that I have purchased. The first two are fantastic, Both these are the WiFi version, therefore I had to have them close to a power source. This unit is not close to a power source so I sent with the PoE version. So far it is working as expected. One issue I found is that the RJ45 socket will only accept a RJ45 with a fairly short protrusion in the end. Two of the RJ45 plugs that I installed myself on Cat5e cable wouldn’t lock in to the socket on the camera. A ready made cable worked find. I alleviate this issue I just used some fine emery paper and filed the protrusion down a bit, worked fine.I am yet to install it with the 15 metre cable, but don’t expect an issue as the PoE switch I am using is advertised as supporting up to 250 metre cable length for PoE.These cameras are well made, show a great image/video both day and night, work very well with Apple HomeKit. These cameras native App also gives some great features. Aqara’s subscription is a little pricey, but may be worth it for the additional features for online storage. One of the greatest features is the both 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi bands as this allows seamless connection to a Mesh Network, Eero, which cameras with just 2.4 GHz are hit and miss with connection. The addition of a thread and Matter hub is a bonus.

Erg blij met deze nieuwe camera hub van Aqara. Enige verbeterpunt zou een iets sterkere floodlight bundle moeten zijn, hoewel de kleurennachtzicht al prima is.
