Simple and Smart Control

The Remote Switch adds simple wireless control to your connected devices. With a sleek design that matches the look of a paddle switch, the Remote Switch provides remote control of your Z-Wave devices, without needing to worry about wiring.

The paddles on the device work just like buttons on a remote control, and with hubs that support advanced parameter input, you can assign multiple actions to each paddle for single tap, double tap, held, released, etc. (up to 5-taps). The ZEN34 provides a great alternative to voice control for a modern and discreet way to trigger multiple devices and scenes.

NOTE: Most basic Z-Wave systems aren’t advanced enough to allow scene control programming. The Remote Switch is supported by Hubitat, Home Assistant (Z-Wave JS), HomeSeer, and compatible with SmartThings (all hubs sold separately). Please do NOT buy this device if your hub isn’t listed here, it will not be recognized correctly by your system.

    Blends in
Looks seamless with a 2-gang Lutron plate. Note: there is only a single gang box here, the Zooz switch is just attached to the plate. It is a bit thicker but looks right at home.

I love lamp, and so does this switch
I rarely write reviews but I’m very pleased with this, so I’m writing day 1:I use z-wave plug switches power my lamps for ambient lighting in rooms (I hate harsh overhead recessed can lights, even with low kelvin bulbs).Bought this switch to control said plug switches by way of my Hubitat Elevation model C-7 running platform version 2.3.5.152.I am pleased with the result in terms of function for 3 reasons:1) Now I don’t have to tell my voice-activated smart home devices to turn off the lights, I can simply tap the switch on my way out.2) intuitive for visitors in my guest room, which lets them/me disable the voice based device for privacy peace of mind.3) robust programming flexibility: via Hubitat button controller app, I can program actions for FOUR actuations of EACH switch direction (up or down) for a total of 8 possible programs! 1) press, 2) hold, 3) double-tap, and 4) release… x2.I set mine so the press turns on or off (for each respective button), hold will pause (for 48 hours) rules that turn lights off or on based on a motion sensor, and double-tap resumes said rules. No action for release, but I could see it being used to have some light on only while holding the button down then turn off on release… or actuating a motor for smart blinds. As for the device itself:Feels like a solid, quality build and sleek modern appearance blends well with modern paddle switches.Be cautious, it could differ from your switches and/or switch plates, so if you care about that you might need to swap those switches, get a new plate, put on a wider plate (not sure if practical while keeping old gang box), or accept some mismatch. One gripe: Took a couple tries to pair, had to exclude to remove it then re-add, but it ultimately worked and I can’t for certain blame the device and not myself.

Extremely easy to use with Smartthings and great battery life
I was replacing an Aeotec Wallmote Quad that had intermittent connectivity issues when it went to sleep, but also managed to only have 6 days of standby battery life. It got so bad that almost every time we tried to use it it would take two presses, and then it might need to be taken out to charge it again. This product was way better. It looks like a normal wall mount paddle switch. The battery had been going strong for months now, and it’s immediately responsive. I don’t believe it’s a ZWave repeater and that might be the cause of these better results, but I already had a separate repeater in a socket nearby. The actual paddle switch is held to a wall-plate-looking base by short distance magnets, and fits into a slightly raised socket that keeps it from sliding around or misaligning.Adding it to Smartthings was easy, there’s no special handler that needs to be installed, it’s all basically supported out of the box. Programming options are to associate actions of your choice with the up and down buttons, with options for single, double, triple, and quad presses. The only indicator on up vs down on the paddles themselves are the micro LED that blinks on press. You can see it when off if you look close, but if you don’t have the paddles on the wall (you can carry just the paddles around and use them just fine too) it’s going to be hard to tell at a glance which is up and down.Unlike prior options (I’ve tried the Sengled Switch too), programming was really easy for some simple things. I wanted all lights a room to go on and off with up and down, but I wanted to be able to toggle thru some partially on options with double taps. Using the Smartthings Virtual Switches (from the Labs setting in the app now), I could do so easily.

Great product, even better customer support!
This switch is great, I was able to essentially add a switch to an existing wall where I wanted one. Super easy to program with my Homey Hub. Even better than the switch is the support from Zooz. I have also purchased their Zen32 switch and had questions about how to properly wire it given my electrical configuration. I can not overstate how helpful their support team was! They were very responsive, had me send them photos of my boxes, sent me back marked up photos, and spent 45 minutes on the phone explaining different options I had. I couldn’t believe they were willing to spend that much time with me. It was very refreshing to have a support team there willing to help after the purchase is made!!

    Highly customizable
I REALLY like how customizable the events are on this switch. I can turn the lights on or off with a tap up or down, change the dimming with the hold up/hold down commands (more on this below), and associate various scenes to different numbers of up taps or down taps. Like, 2 down taps turns the lights off in the room but sets the LED strips under the bed to be at 10% and blue. 3 down taps runs my “i’m going to sleep” scene which turns all the lights off in the house and locks the door. 4 ups and 5 ups are different styles of mood lighting and puts the oil diffuser on.I got this because I wanted a remote to operate some color dimming bulbs and LEDs in a bedroom without adding another dimming switch to the room. That would have required me to install a bigger electrical box in the wall to house a second dimming switch. The smarthings forum pointed me to this. They made it sound like the dimming can work straight out of the box, but if it does it isn’t obvious. I added a bunch of routines to the hold up and hold down commands to check how bright the lights are in the room and lower/raise them when I hold a paddle. I think I added 10 routines for this? 5 steps up and 5 steps down. It works, but it was a pita to setup.

I have standardized my automation using Z-Wave. I wanted to add a 2-way switch in two locations in my cottage and I decided to give this a try. It was SUPER easy to setup. In one location in a hall I just stuck it. To the wall. In the other I bought a 2 gang wall plate and mounted this under it next to an existing switch. I added it to my smartthings hub and then programed the click actions. It was up and working in minutes. I was pleasantly surprised to find that you can program double, triple etc clicks. This such a great device. The oy small drawback is that it runs on small coin sized lithium batteries but for the convenience it is worth the price of replacing the batteries every once in a while. Love this switch!

This switch is easily included to your ZWave network via Homeseer (HS3 in my case) and its a simple matter to spawn events and/or control devices based on input from the switch. You can trigger things based on the number of taps (one to five on either side of the paddle switch); you can also trigger events based on holding either side of the button down. (You can also trigger an event when the button is released…but I am not using this feature as it implies to me that you’d always trigger 2 things…the initial hold down, AND the release). Regardless, its great to have this kind of simple control of Zwave devices without having to use some of the cumbersome remotes that are available.

I bought one a year ago, and then I bought three more since. These things are awesome. I have used these with SmartThings to control lights and other things super easily. The setup with SmartThings is easy enough – not much different than other zigbee and z-wave devices. The one I bought a year ago still has battery life – so the battery seems to last a long time – and uses a super common button cell battery type. I REALLY love the fact that I can put it on the wall, but, also, whenever I want to, remove the magnetically attached switch and use it anywhere in my room or house. SUPER CONVENIENT – both to install and use. Definitely good value for the cost

It works well and follows Zwave specifications and can be programmed with advanced parameters from Home Assistant. My only complaint is that there is about a 0.5s delay after you press the button where it waits for a double/triple press, and only then does it transmit, so this means the switch always has a 500-700ms second lag from pressing it to the lights coming on. This bothers my guests who aren’t expecting it and they end up pressing the button several times. If only there was a way to disable the double/triple press scene behavior and just transmit immediately on the first button press it would be perfect.

This product was great until the main chip unsoldered and fell down. Could probably be repaired if I can find a local shop with air station and flux. Contacted Zooz, very quick turn around for getting the product replaced up and running again. Will buy again.
