Works Great, easy setup with Asus app.
How hard is it for other reviewers to set up an extender or AP? Simply plug it into router, use app to detect it, then move it to the desired location. Took 2 minutes to set up and is working flawlessly extending wifi to the deadzone in the back of my house. The wired backhaul is a nice feature. It works exactly the same as the RP-AX58 just has wifi 7 capabilities. If you have an Asus router to setup AiMesh, this is the one to get. If you don’t have an asus router, may as well get a cheaper brand as they all do the same simple task.

Asus extender
I purchased this wifi extender to work with my Asus ZenFi ET12 nodes. I unboxed the extender, powered it on, and opened my Asus router app on my phone. I simply added the extender in the app, and the extender connected perfectly. It took a few minutes for it configure itself, but the results have been outstanding! I mounted the extender in a metal barn away from the house, but in line of sight for one of the ZenFi nodes. The two security cameras picked up the extender signal quickly and the speeds are amazing! Throughout for the camera is 4700+ Mbps, so the response time is quick and the video quality has improved significantly. I also struggled with my cellphone in the barn since the metal structure acts like a huge faraday cage – no problems anymore! Wifi signal from the extender is excellent and listening to music or watching videos at the barn is now possible.

1. Cannot automatically connect to the wireless Aimesh network after power cycle (power off and then on). The repeater is connected in the Wireless Log, but not shown as online in Aimesh. Have to remove and re-join the Aimesh for each power cycle.2. Cannot add to Aimesh using iphone app. Can only add through webpage.3. Even on webpage, sometimes cannot add to Aimesh.Very unfinished and buggy firmware.This product shouldn’t have been on the market.

Good but could be hard to setup
This is a great product if you use the ASUS repeater app. If you use the aimesh app/dashboard on a computer uiu will get frustrated as you will not be able to use the AI mesh network without plugging in an ethernet cord. After installing it works as an access point perfectly.

Excellent extender with ethernet backhaul
A few weeks into use, this extender is working great. It has improved wireless signal in rooms far from the router so devices in those rooms have a stable and strong connection.It is very easy to set up on an Asus router that supports AIMesh, I had it set up within minutes. I have not tried to set it up with any other routers.I use this with an ethernet backhaul for optimized performance. I have not tested this using the existing wireless signal as the base connection for the extender.

Slowness and dropped packets with wireless backhaul
I had no issues setting up Asus AiMesh with the wireless backhaul, but connectivity was very spotty. A lot of dropped packets and slowness from my iPhone when I was closer to the extender instead of the main router. Unfortunately the wired backhaul is not an option for me, so I didn’t get to try that.

Great Product to extend coverage
Using two of these with my Asus GT-BE98 Pro wireless router. They’re working great for covering wireless gaps around the perimeter of my home. They work especially well if you’re able to use wired connections (ethernet backhaul) from the extender to your wireless router.Very easy to setup and I’m not seeing the issue others have described where you have to reset them frequently.
