Highly recommend! Simple smart bulb!
This is my now 4th Geeni product and I can’t get enough of them!! I have two color changing bulbs the home camera and now these soft to bright dimming bulbs!! The house is getting more tech everyday. For real though these are great and I didn’t expect them to have such an array of brightness to dimming. At the lowest it’s a lovely reading light that would just soak beautifully into a page and highlight all those lovely words you are putting your peepers on. At its brightest I’m transported into a gallery looking at a masterpiece taking in all the detail from the foreground background and any other ground this light hits. Now I say all this as someone who just put one in the stairwell cause I hate harsh light beating my eyes up as I climb and descend the stairs. But besides my rambling the short summary is but this or any of these products. The ease of installation and operation on a simple to navigate app makes it almost fun to add new items and play with all of there individual and intricate features.

Bright light, true Daylight – Difficult setup
Overall 5-stars. Some smart bulbs call 5000K daylight, but you really want 6000K like this bulb provides if true daylight is important to you. Also, the 700 lumens is a decently bright light and more than other brands. Alexa integration works well once it’s set up.CONS:(1) Initial setup (3-stars) was difficult because the bulbs only work on 2.4Ghz WiFi so you have to also be on the 2.4Ghz connection to set up the lights. My phone and network manage all of that automatically so initially I couldn’t connect to my lights. The trick I used was to go outside where the 2.4Ghz signal was stronger, my phone switched over and I was able to complete the initial set up. Now that everything is connected I can control my lights from anywhere on my network. I imagine that’s too much for some people, but was really just a minor inconvenience.(2) My second complaint with these bulbs is that they will flash until they are configured through the app, For some reason one of my bulbs disconnected and just started flashing again so I had to go back outside to my 2.4Ghz connection to reconfigure it. If I was not home, or if the weather was bad, the light would be useless. My other smart bulbs revert to a “dumb mode” and just work like normal bulbs when they lose their configuration.Bottom line: These are the best BR30 lights on the market currently, but I’m waiting for something more user-friendly before I replace the rest of my lights.

From Meh to YEAH!
***UPDATE TO THE UPDATED REVIEW***SO, on of my bulbs started to fail this week. It was flickering, then cutting out. I swapped it into a different lamp and got the same issue, then swapped a different bulb into the first lamp and it worked, so its definitely the Geeni bulb with the issue. The bulb in question is about a year and 3 months old. Not great life for a bulb, BUT, all the others I have from around the same time frame are working just fine. SO, I decided to reorder a bulb, because I do REALLY like these bulbs. That’s when I noticed that the one bulb is $15.99, when last December, I bought a 2 pack for $12.99. UGH.***UPDATED REVIEW***I’m giving Geeni bulbs 2 more stars up from my original review. Once all the kinks are worked out with getting these things attached with Alexa, the set up IS actually pretty quick and straight forward. I now have 4 bulbs (one more on the way) with 2 being on a schedule, and everything is working perfectly. The fact that these bulbs don’t need a hub is probably their best quality. A lot of the bulbs on the market require extra hardware. These are totally autonomous. There are only a few slight issues that keep these bulbs from being 5 stars: 1) they still aren’t the brightest bulbs. Although they ARE bright enough to light what you need, I wish they were slightly brighter. 2) with the schedule setting, you can only schedule the bulbs to turn on OR off. You can’t set an “on time” AND an “off time,” only one or the other. 3) the color setting (on the color enabled bulbs) really leaves a lot to be desired. With the color setting on, the bulbs are at about half the wattage output of their normal operation. Still, now that all the technical issues are out of the way, these are my go to bulbs for converting to my Smart Home.*Original Review*So far, I’m thoroughly unimpressed. Had, and continue to have, a lot of annoying hiccups with this thing. FIRST, if you have a dual band router, which I’m sure most people do, you’re gonna have to do some router configuration. Most broadband routers broadcast both 2.4 and 5.0ghz bands at the same time, and the device will pick the one it needs. NOT THESE BAD BOYS! It took 40 minutes and a call to Comcast to get my router to broadcast on two separate SSIDs just so the bulb would even connect to my network. THAT issue solved, the bulb finally connected and I was able to control it with the phone app. Cool, but its just as annoying to open an app and turn the bulb off, as it is to just get up and turn it off. I want Alexa to control it. SO, I connect it to Alexa, no problem, except that Alexa sees this thing as a PLUG, not a bulb, and therefore cannot control it. Geeni has no online support, so you have to send an email to get support. I’m on day 3 of waiting for a response. Hooray. The bulb itself isn’t terribly bright. I don’t know why its so hard to find a BRIGHT, WHITE damn bulb.It IS dimmable, so theres that. If this worked with Alexa, I’d buy a bunch more (not this EXACT bulb, because I want something brighter) but if Alexa can’t control it, its just an expensive ass light bulb and basically useless to me.

I like the product but somehow eventhough I paid full price for the light bulb I received instead an already used item (the light bulb itself came dirty and with finger prints).

Buen brillo, fácil de configurar con Alexa ( a travez de smart life , ya que geeni no está disponible en México aún). Lo mejor es que no necesita un hub para usarlo

I have 8 of these bulbs in my home and they have been performing perfectly for a few years now. Easy to set up and works great with Google Home.
