New model works with old mounts saving much install time. Thank you, Ring!!
I just updated one of the original Ring Doorbell cameras with the Doorbell Plus. I was sure that I was going to have to replace the old angled mount with a new version to fit this much newer doorbell. Lo and behold, the new doorbell fit in the old mounting unit! Thank you, Ring!! I did not have to detach or re-attach any Ring house mounts. Only a couple screws to remove the old doorbell and screw on the new doorbell. How great is that! So nice that the design was backward compatible to the house mount. The new Ring Doorbell is a good product but I give it high marks just because Ring looked out for the customer.

Solid Purchase
New house, so I finally bought a Ring doorbell. I plan to add cameras around the perimeter, but I wanted to start with the doorbell first. It arrived today and was simple to charge, install, and set up, especially for someone who’s not tech, savvy or handy. I also picked up the no drill mount and a chime so I can hear it from the basement family room. Everything was reasonably priced and easy to set up, so now I’m ready to order the battery spotlight cameras for the rest of the house.

Good Product with a great price!
Love, Love, Love this Ring Doorbell. It is easy to set up and view from the app on my phone, plus I get alerts on our echo. Great night vision, I love being able to set the perimeter so that I don’t pick up street traffic, but do get alerts if someone is in my driveway or on my porch. I love the doorbell part, people can leave video messages and you can talk to them through the doorbell. The size is nice, not to big but I get an entire picture of the person on my porch.

Great doorbell, highly recommend.
It connected to my ring network easily. The hardest part was mounting it to brick. There should be a pattern that could be put on the brick to get screws are aligned. It has great night vision and color. Easy to setup by scanning the QR code.

For no drill situations, buy the no drill mount along with this doorbell. It’s a solid choice.
EDIT: I have changed the review to 4 stars for the following reasons:Unfortunately because of the porch light and the location of the doorbell on my front door, the night vision doesn’t work well for my situation, but it works as intended, so I have accepted that this is the best it can do. I have ordered KMOUANTS Adjustable 360 degree doorbell angle mount with the hope that I can angle the camera to avoid the glare from the porch light. Here is the part that warrants five stars instead of four: customer service. I got an almost immediate email from anExecutive Community Support Representative named Z. Let me tell you, I have never received the kind of attention and responsiveness from ANY representative that comes close to what Z went through to try to resolve this odd situation of mine. She spent many days working on this, even taking it to her team and *they* researched it as well. Every single email I sent, Z responded almost immediately. In many emails, she included YouTube videos to help illustrate each how-to.The camera may have its shortcomings for my specific situation, but Ring Support certainly does not. Z is the Gold Standard in customer support, and I can’t say enough about her excellence.I do wish that the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus came with a no drill mount. It’s a moot point now because I ordered theKMOUANTS 360 mount which I really hope will do the trick. If not, I will accept that this camera has a shortfall that is unique to my situation. And that will be ok.After all is said and done, the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus has crisp detail. That is important to me because the Wyze camera I still have operating in the same location, does not. I appreciate the quality of the picture. In closing, if I didnt have the unique lighting issue, I would be very happy with this doorbell. I recommend giving it a chance.

Does what it is supposed to do
OK, so the ring doorbell does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It is very high-quality very easy to set up. But it is just gonna take time for us to get used to cameras on our house. We live in a very safe area and we’re just not tech people. But we thought we’d give it a try.

I love my Ring doorbell
I love my Ring doorbell. It has great image quality and allows me to monitor the front door from my office. It was easy to install and the battery lasts for several weeks. I suggest buying a 2nd battery to swap out when the battery needs recharging.

Excellent Upgrade – Clear Video and Easy Installation!
I recently upgraded to the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus, and I’m really impressed with how much it’s improved compared to older models. The head-to-toe HD video is a game changer — I can actually see packages on the ground now, not just faces! The motion detection is spot-on, and the smart alerts make it easy to tell the difference between a person and random motion (like a car driving by).Setup was super simple. I had it up and running in about 15 minutes with the Ring app guiding me through every step. The battery life has also been great — I’ve gone several weeks without recharging, even with frequent motion alerts.I also love how well it integrates with Alexa and other Ring devices. When someone rings, I get instant notifications on my Echo Show, and I can talk to visitors without needing to open the app.The only small downside is that the Ring Protect subscription is pretty much required if you want to access recordings and advanced features, but honestly, it’s worth the few dollars a month for the convenience.Overall, this is a fantastic smart doorbell — crystal clear video, reliable alerts, and an easy install. Highly recommended for anyone looking to upgrade their home security!

Good product, works well. Would be better if the ring subscription is a bit cheaper than it is currently since this product is useless without a ring subscription

The ‘item’ is great. It is a replacement for a damaged on, easy set up. But what WASN’T easy was the transfer of the old ring out of my account and inserting the new device into my existing account. Really difficult, gave up in the end, and I may no be billed fit two separate accounts. Try contacting them? Chatbot chats are pathetic.

I purchased this camera after an incident at my place. I’ve mounted the camera using a compatible bracket on the front door. So far, so good. What I didn’t realise though is you need to purchase a plan to store video footage and use features like doorbell calls to your phone. I didn’t even realise there was this feature as the instructions never mentioned it. I got a bit of a fright when a chime went off very loudly on my phone as someone was at my door. They do give you a month free subscription from date of purchase with these features which I didn’t notice at first either. Check their website first to see what features you want and what plan is best. I didn’t do that, when I should’ve done so. Although I wound up purchasing the standard plan subscription which works out cheaper to pay annually. So this is a great camera, but if you don’t purchase a plan it’s only as good as seeing who is at the door. The incident I had the police wanted video footage, so you’re best to get a plan with it.

I previously was using (without) issue the standard Ring Battery Video Doorbell (in copper colour); and bought the Battery Video Doorbell Plus when it went on sale during Prime Day.It has been a game changer, and is better in almost every way:1. The Field of View is SIGNIFICANTLY greater.I live a top a flight of stairs, and often when I had deliveries, I previously couldn’t view or be alerted of deliveries because the camera view of the standard Ring Doorbell didn’t reach the floor. The Video Doorbell Plus solves that problem as the field of view reaches from the floor to the roof. Maybe an extra 30 or 40 degrees improvement in field of view vertically. My floor to ceiling height is around 2.5m.Lateral field of view seems similar.2. Removable battery is a game changer.Having to remove the whole unit to charge for 8 hours with the standard Video Doorbell is a real inconvenience. Being able to just switch out the removable battery in the Doorbell Plus so there is no down time, is significantly more convenient. The battery still uses a micro-USB to charge. Don’t know why Ring isn’t using USB C by now (cable is included though)3. Less lag when going to Live View.I found with the standard Ring Battery Video Doorbell, it took up to 30secs to go to Live View when someone was at my door (usually around 15 to 20secs). By the time I connected the person or deliverer was gone. The Doorbell Plus allows me to connect to Live View in 1/2 to 1/3 of the time previously (5 to 10 secs usually). Significantly less frustrating.I don’t know whether the removable battery will last as long as the internal battery of the standard Video Doorbell. If there is significant decrease I will update my review.I liked the copper colour of the previous standard Doorbell (matches brickwork better), but I can buy removable faceplates I think.Overall, the Video Doorbell Plus is better, more convenient and functional, than the standard Ring Battery Video Doorbell, in almost every way. When on sale during Prime Day (with 40% off), the price of the two were almost similar. I can’t recommend the standard Doorbell if you can afford or can get the Plus version on discount. It’s better and less frustrating to use in every single way.
