Finally, a Smart Doorbell That’s Actually Smart
This Ring Battery Doorbell Pro has exceeded all my expectations. The standout features for me are the package detection and how it seamlessly calls my phone. It’s a game-changer.The package notification is incredibly accurate. I’ve set up a specific zone, and every time a delivery driver places a box within that area, I get an immediate alert on my phone. The 1536p HD+ Head-to-Toe Video is fantastic for this, as it gives you a full view of the front door area, so you can see exactly where the package is placed. No more wondering if the package was left behind a planter or if it was ever delivered at all.And the best part? When someone rings the doorbell, my phone rings just like a regular phone call. I can answer it from anywhere—at work, at the grocery store, or even just in another room of the house. The Two-Way Talk with Audio+ is crystal clear, so I can speak with visitors or delivery people without any static or delay. This feature alone provides so much peace of mind and convenience.Between the precise package alerts and the phone-call feature, this doorbell feels less like a security camera and more like a true extension of my home. It’s a top-tier product that delivers on its promises.

Great upgrade from Ring Doorbell 2020
One thing I always fear when upgrading is drilling new holes. My Ring Doorbell (2020) was starting to show it’s age and I wanted a camera with a wider head to toe angle and this didn’t disappoint.Shown on my pictures is the corner kit I used for the Original Ring Doorbell (720p). The 3 corner pieces interlock and I just use a long screw to hold it together on the top and bottom. The 2020 doorbell didn’t exactly fit the original corner kit because it has a bracket that you attach the doorbell to, then secure it with two screws on the bottom. The power is still connected to the Ring Doorbell itself. It did leave very small gap on the top but the doorbell area is sheltered from the elements.Fast forward to 2025. I was able to remove the old doorbell and old bracket. To attach the Ring Doorbell PRO, I had to remove one of the corner pieces and use the corner kit that came with the doorbell. The power is still attached to the back of the doorbell. The black corner kit is smooth and doesn’t lock with the old pieces of the corner kit. It does stay flushed against it. While someone is holding the 3 pieces together, you use the long screw on the top and bottom to secure all 3 pieces. Make sure everything is even.Once that is done, you can connect the power to the back of the Doorbell PRO. Then use the 4 short screws to attach the Ring Doorbell to the black corner piece that came with the doorbell. Pop in the battery and you are ready to set up in the APP. After the doorbell is added, you can put the cover on and use the short security screw to keep the battery door shut.It was easy to set up in the APP and it instantly recognized my indoor chime without me going through set up menus. I was back in business and so happy I upgraded. The motion detection is nice and you need to set the notifications in the MOTION settings. The default is people only. The doorbell itself uses Smart Technology to eliminate all the false alerts. The setting I used was people, send a notification.Vehicles, record but don’t send notification.Other motion, record but don’t send notification. The Doorbell PRO is well worth the upgrade! The video is clearer and the pre-roll feature is very nice.

It’s a good door bell.
Ring have improved their cameras and the clarity of images tremendously. The bell needs an additional device to be heard indoors, but it’s easy to pair.Subscription to the Ring videos is okay, just another annual subscription. I just wish I could store the videos locally.

Ring Battery Doorbell (newest model)
This new model is a lot better than my old model. I couldn’t be more pleased with this model. The clarity and view are great and I can now have a head to toe view

Not sure that this new camera is overall better than the older model it replaced.
I bought this new Ring Battery Doorbell Pro to replace an older Ring Doorbell we have been using for several years. I assumed that this newer version would be a real upgrade in image and overall quality. Our old camera was higher up on the door behind a speak-easy wrought iron cage that interfered with the filed of view. I attached the new doorbell on the frame at the suggested height and used a corner attachment to slightly turn it inward. I attached both items on top of a solar charger. While it wasn’t easy to get everything mounted at first and it took several tries, I now have all items firmly sitting on the lefthand door frame. I think the recording quality is good although it seems to be delayed at times. I am not sure about the camera quality and can’t see that the resolution is actually better compared to our old one. What I dislike is the field of view, which might be a result from the wide angle lens that seems to be in the camera. Our entryway is12-15 feet, and because of the wide angle, the distance at the end of the entryway appears so far away that it makes everyone look tiny. I will not be able to recognize people that I am not very familiar with. The cars parked right behind it are so small that I can barely see anything of importance let alone a license plate. When I zoom in on the end of the entryway, everything is blurred. I will try out this camera for a while and maybe adjust how I mounted it, but I have to say that at first sight I am not as impressed as I expected to be. The field of view (distance and size of objects) is a real bother to me because it does not give us the security at first sight that I wanted. I hope this camera will connect better to the app than the old one, which had frequent connection problems that should not stem from our WiFi, which is strong. I will gladly write an update after I assessed this item for a while.

Great unit. You don’t need to get the display (eg Echo Show 5). The mobile phone is perfectly fine as a display unit. I used the 3M VHB 4910F clear double sided tape to attach it to a glass panel. Although the unit is not recommended to be attached to glass panels, this particular tape from research seems to be able to handle the outside environment. I am in Sydney with hot summers.

The Ring Doorbell is an excellent device. It does 90% of what most people want out of the box – good video, reliable alerts, built-in communication, etc. But that last 10% – the ability to look back, download recordings, get smarter alerts – makes a big difference in real life. And it sucks a little that those capabilities require an ongoing fee.If you’re okay with paying a modest subscription, the Ring becomes far more powerful. If not, it still works well – just with limitations. All up, though, I’d still recommend it if you want modern smart doorbell functionality. Just go in knowing exactly what features are free, and what you’ll need to pay for.

Love this video doorbell. We have it installed on our front gate so we know anytime someone is there. Feel a lot safer with this device, highly recommend.

Easy to install and the images are clear, even at night. We have a lot of petty crime in our area and I feel more secure with this video doorbell. I will add to it (solar-powered video camera) soon to extend the coverage.
