I bought this as a replacement to the identical model …
I bought this as a replacement to the identical model. I asked two furnace guys to price out the installation–one was $850, the other “it will be a little over $1000.” I bought from Field Controls and did the install in an hour. All I needed was high temp caulk to caulk around the sill plate. I’m smiling at what I saved. If you ever need to contact the tech support people at Field Controls you’ll find them to be polite and helpful too. George

power venter replacement got my furnace back up and running
It’s an oil furnace and the original power venter was badly corroded, sulphur in the oil furnace exhaust had killed the fan motor once, and five years later, the whole power venter had to be replaced. It was a 1:1 replacement, same holes, same power connectors. Easy fix.GB

    money saved used for fuel.
Saved myself over $800 buying and installing myself. This was the exact Fields model I already had. Lasted me 11 years. Furnace guy informed me I didn’t need a specialist to install it. He’s right. Just a screwdriver and socket wrench. YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE HI TEMP CAULK TO SEAL IT THOUGH. This is normal. 1 hour later and I had it done.

It looked fine. I replaced my old unit
I took the unit out of the package. It looked fine. I replaced my old unit. I turned the power on. it did not rotate but made a hum noise. I double checked the compatibility with my control boards, and the wirring. It was all compatible and wired correctly. It was a Sunday so I could not go to a supply house, and had no heat. I removed this unit and investigated. internally the motor bracket was bent, and the fan. I was able to reapair it by taking it all apart and bending the metal housing for the internal motor, and the fan itself. I had no choice on a cold Sunday afternoon and no heat or hot water. This unit was not damaged in shipping. somebody had damaged it then put it back together and maybe returned it and it got sold to me? Or during assembly? either way you should have quality control on products you sell. It cost me a lot of extra hours removing it and re installing it multiple times. Plus repairing it, and investigating my control board and wiring. Next time I will go to my local supply house to purchase this.

rusts away in a few years
I installed one of these units 4 years ago, I turned on my boiler to start this season and it never started it shut right down. I took apart the power vent to find the blower wheel rusted away. I ordered a new wheel and had some job removing it, it was rusted right to the motor shaft, The rest of the unit has its share of rust. Between the rust and the load of controls that this unit has I feel uneasy about leaving the house for a long period of time.

The first one lasted 20 years!
Its an OEM replacement part sold by a good vendor. I hope it lasts as long as the first one.
