A watched bot misses the spot, but turn your back and it’s gone!
A watched bot misses the spot… so many times I see it running and it JUST missed a piece of lint, over and over… and then I come back 15 minutes later and it’s gone! Lots of negative reviews from people who seem to have not understood that this is a random motion robot. Keeping your expectations in line and realizing that even with a random pattern the whole house will eventually be covered every few days and this is an amazing little helper.I actually wanted a “dumb” robot because I didn’t want an internet connected device because I care about my network security, and many consumer grade IOT devices have very poor security.I bought two very similar vacuums, one for downstairs and one for upstairs. We have very dark laminate flooring downstairs and it felt like even if I vacuumed regularly there’d still be stuff showing up shortly after I completed my cleaning. I’d do a whole house vacuum every week, but it still felt like I couldn’t keep up, so I initially bought this one (the 11S+) for the downstairs laminate. I loved it so much that I bought an 11S Max for upstairs just a short time later.Since the 11S Max is so similar, I’ll combine details from both in this review as they’re relevant here too.For context, this is in a household with two long-haired adults, no kids, no pets.Downstairs on laminate and tile flooring with only an area rug and fairly basic furniture the device has worked perfectly. It got stuck once on day two in a corner where I had some chairs stacked up and gained the nickname “Waldo”… “Wall-e, the garbage collecting robot… got stuck… where is he? Where’s Waldo?!”, but hasn’t gotten stuck anywhere since and always finds its way home. Every day at lunchtime I come downstairs from my home office and empty the bin and I’m shocked by how much stuff is in it, wondering how I ever lived in such dirty conditions! hahaAfter deciding that this was the best thing ever I bought another for upstairs on the carpeted floors. Things are a bit different there. It seems that every single room upstairs has an obstacle that it doesn’t like, and I’ve had to do a LOT more robot-proofing. In the master bedroom it found its way into the walk-in closet and got tangled on a shirt that had a long string-like fringe and got stuck. In the master bedroom it gets up on the legs of the drying rack and makes a LOT of noise going over them, repeatedly. In the hall guest bedroom it got stuck under the bed that had JUST enough clearance for it to get under, but not get back out. In each of the home offices it gets hung up on the desk legs. In my home office it gets hung up on the legs of my music stand. One night it started beeping after going a touch too far over the edge of the stairs and not being able to back up. It’s strange how the downstairs robot can go about its business daily w/o any problem, and the upstairs one has a problem in every single room. I’m gradually going around and finding ways to deal with the problem room by room (e.g. 3d printed bumpers on my desk legs), but it has been a bit more of a challenge. Like the downstairs robot it’s SHOCKING how much crap the thing picks up every day, even after a deep vacuuming with our Sebo D4. Being as this one gets stuck so often it got the nickname Dodo. I still love it, and it keeps things cleaner, but does require a lot more babysitting. With time I expect it’ll get better as I’ve been making and adding guards here and there to keep it away from areas where it shouldn’t be.A note about the long hair mentioned before: On day 1 I tested the upstairs one before a deep-vacuuming, after about 2 weeks of not doing one and it got REALLY REALLY tangled with hair, but I did a deep vacuuming with the real vacuum and since then it has kept up enough that hair has not been a problem at all.Pros: Very quiet, good coverage (I seldom see a missed spot), picks up a crazy amount of stuff even when you think there’s nothing for it to find, cheap maintenance parts, easy setup, no apps nor wifi connectivity to phone home and potentially compromise your home network.Cons: None if your house is robot-proof, some people may have zero problems, some might have a LOT of problems.

    Love it 😍
We’ve been using this everyday since we got it. Our floors feel amazing because of it. It’s great knowing the mop goes up when it hits carpet. Also it has a light on it for darker rooms to better see where it’s going I’m assuming which is cool to see. Was nervous to get this but absolutely love it so far. Haven’t used the part you take off to spot clean yet but hopefully soon. Easy to self empty and easy to set up. Definitely worth the price and seems of great quality. We had an IRobot and love this one 100% more. Last a good amount of time doing both mopping and vacuuming. We have short haired animals and it works great will keeping the hair off the floor and kids make messes all the time and it does a good job cleaning up as long as it hasn’t dried for a couple days but usually we clean up once a mess happens anyways. It was packed very well too.

Update on Great vacuum except for swivel wheel
I’ve owned this vacuum for 20 months. I use it almost daily in my bedroom because our dog sleeps with us. It still picks up well and lasts about an hour on the standard setting. I clean it every 2 or 3 days, using a big vacuum hose to suck up the dust from the dust cup and clean the roller brush, then a cloth to clean the sensors and overall. The problem: Eight months after I bought the vacuum, the swivel wheel stopped snapping in place. I can still insert the swivel wheel where it belongs, but there is nothing holding it in place. It frequently comes loose during vacuuming and is left behind. The functioning of the vacuum is greatly impeded when this happens. This also leaves me with the frustrating task of searching for the lost swivel wheel, which is very good at hiding. I tried buying a replacement swivel wheel, but that didn’t help. I believe the problem is with something inside the vacuum, and not with the swivel wheel. I have continued to use the vacuum, but it sure would be nice to have a swivel wheel that snapped into place and stayed where it belonged.Update: i’ve now owned the same Eufy for three years and three months. It’s still picks up and it’s still lasts about an hour on the vacuum daily automatic setting; and Eufy usually finds its way back to the charging station when the battery gets low. Eufy vacuums three different rooms it once and fails at finding the charging station when it is too far to detect the signal. (I would say farther away than about 25 feet and then there are corners to navigate around), or when the charging station somehow gets turned. The swivel wheel has remained a problem because it does not snap into place. I put it The wheel in place on the vacuum and it works fine until the wheel gets knocked out by an obstacle. Then it falls out. sometimes Eufyl continues to work and sometimes not. It is also frustrating when Eufy leaves the swivel wheel behind because it can be a real challenge to find it. I have bought an extra swivel wheel to compensate, and that works pretty well. I would say the wheel gets knocked out as a vacuum every third or fourth day. Basically, though, I am happy with a vacuum.

Picks up a lot more than other bargain robot vacuums that I’ve had. However, it picks up a lot of static electricity which means dust sticking to the windows covering the infrared proximity sensors, the glass top picks up a lot of fingerprints, the nylon screen is difficult to snap in and out, the shorter height means it finds new places to get stuck in, and the mud mats under your boots and shoes gives it problems. It also rips out bamboo threads out of an old bamboo mat we have, wrapping them on the roller. As with most bargain robot vac, you need to barricade where you don’t want it to go. The runtime on standard seems fine though I’m not convince it actually covers all areas, on IQBoost, it didn’t even leave the living room and attached dining room except for half the hallway. It has pushed the docking station around a bit but works well without the full recommended one metre to both sides and two metres in front. Note, this robot vac does not mop… Would be nice if they put storage areas either on the vacuum or the docking station to store the brush, spare parts and remote, a simple pocket on the docking station would do the trick. The remote has much better range than expected even through furniture which is surprising for an infrared remote.

Excellent petit aspirateur !
