How do I install the Nuki Keypad 2?
Nuki Keypad 2 is mounted to the outside of your front door by sticking it to the door frame or screwing it on the wall. The required mounting accessories (adhesive strips, screws and dowels) are included in the package.
How is the Nuki Keypad 2 powered?
The Keypad is powered by four included AAA batteries that provide an average battery life of 12 months. Change them by detaching the Keypad from the mounting plate, opening the battery compartment and inserting four new batteries
How can I share fingerprints and access codes?
You can save up to 20 fingerprints and 200 entry codes on your Keypad 2. Go into the Nuki app, select “Settings” and “Keypad”. Tap on “Add permission” and follow the instructions in the Nuki app.
Is the Nuki Keypad 2 compatible with every Smart Lock?
The Keypad 2 is only compatible with the Nuki Smart Lock. It is part of the Nuki ecosystem & designed to enhance the keyless entry experience. It allows secure access for family and guests via unique codes, eliminating the need for physical keys.
Is the Nuki Keypad 2 protected against theft?
If your Nuki Keypad 2 is stolen, we offer you a theft replacement. Just send us a copy of your loss report (issued by the police) and proof of ownership (original invoice) of your Keypad and we’ll send you a free replacement.

The only retrofit style smart lock you should consider
Because I have unique front door hardware, I couldn’t install anything that had both an inside and outside component. Which limited my options. Luckily, I stumbled upon this lock. After a bunch of research, I decided to give it a try.It’s still early, but man, so far, so good. The installation was flawless. The app works really well, and it’s awesome that you don’t NEED a stupid user account with a remote service to use it (although you certainly can sign up for theirs as well).Pairing via Matter to Apple Home worked perfectly, and I paired it with the companion keypad, which also paired and worked perfectly. The only minor snag so far is that I’m having trouble also adding the lock to Home Assistant, despite following all the instructions, but as far as the officially supported smart home integrations, it seems to work perfectly right off the bat.The lock mechanism itself is rather loud, and sometimes there’s a bit of a delay. I think it depends on how recently the device was interfaced with, because once it’s “awake” it responds instantly. The ONLY downside is that it only comes in a single stainless steel appearance, whereas matte black would have matched a lot better with my door hardware (the key pad is black, so not sure why the lock only comes in silver).It’s really nice that the lock uses a rechargeable interface battery! Can’t stand having to swap out disposables constantly (although the keypad does use AA batteries for some reason). While I would have preferred a USB-C to USB-C charging cable, it comes with a USB-C to proprietary magnetic cable that just snaps on the bottom to charge.It has a lot of smart and convenience features, which are nice. One of the nicer touches is that, by default, the ring LED on the front will periodically flash when the door is unlocked. This has caught my attention already where I thought my front door was locked, so it’s a nice touch.Overall, I’m very happy with Nuki’s products. If you, like me, are required to set up an inside-only retrofit smart lock, this is a great option.

I waited a good while before reviewing as I wanted to see how it performed over time before claiming it was good or bad. The absolute only thing that I can say would make this device “better” (and that’s me scratching for anything) is having apple key available but I quickly realized Apple key really isn’t a must have at all.This is hands down the best built, secure-centric, nice looking, and reliable smart lock I’ve tried. I will be adding another to the rear door of the house for sure. Love it!

Not working well in Home App
The good: It looks sleek and mounts easy on the door and works well with its own app, but that’s it.The bad: very hard to pair with HomeKit (discloser: I work in IT and I am not a novice). After finally pairing it with HomeKit it worked for exactly 5 minutes. Afterwards it lost connectivity to Home application couldn’t connect and couldn’t use it. I unpair it and repeated everything again, with the same result.Everything was updated to the latest OS and firmware.The instructions on how to mount are missing key elements. The instructions on how to pair with HomeKit app are completely wrong.I really wanted this to work, but I needed all the functionality the Mater-over-Thread was promising to provide plus the Premium feature.

It works, could be better
I was aware about motor sound issue. But the reality is even wore. There were also issues with calibration sometimes failing with errors. Also pls note this version is somehow different compared to eu version. There is no speed control in app. Also i wasn’t able to control how many turns lock should rotate to close the door. Another issues is with integration. To integrate with home assistant using wifi, I could only using option MQTT. When I unlock door with button, nuki app or by key, i clearly see different events in nuki app, also in case of app, I see who opened. In HA only unlock event, without much details

Best secure smart lock for automations and works with Garmin products!
I come from previously only using the auguste smart lock. I must say this one was hands down way simpler to install as well as more sleek. What wins me over though is the rechargeable battery! No more buying those specific batteries every 2-3 months… Also! If you get this before the end of December or something you get lifetime premium subscription for free with nuki. I highly recommend! Also supports matter and is compatible with home assistant for automations and my garmin watch for when I go running without my phone. Can’t say enough good things for this lock and at this price point!!!
